Ok... those of us that grew up in a time when video games consisted of Atari and Intellivision, played wargames with little cardboard counters, with rulebooks that made the dictionary seem like a comic book, and maps that were highly detailed and covered with grids of "hexes".
If you remember such a time... what were your favorite wargames?
Mine are (in no particular order)
Axis and Allies - (Milton Bradley) - I still have the original version, and the new revised one... now teaching my son to play.
Rise and Fall of the Third Reich (Avalon Hill) - I still have 2 complete copies of this one
World War II - (SPI) - Still have a copy of this too
Submarine! - (Avalon Hill) - Was my first wargame
Kingmaker - (Avalon Hill) - Great game of backstabbing and shifting alliances!
Star Fleet Battles - (ADB) - Still have the rulebooks for this somewhere.
Richthofen's War - (Avalon Hill) - GREAT WW1 Air combat boardgame!
