yeah and some of the rupert's I meet and worked with should have done 88 weeks in training..its quite funny they finish officer training and come to their first field unit with their head stuck up there bellybutton only to be put in place by a stripey

Does the Navy still have Lynx Helicopters? Got to go up in one when I was down in the Falklands.Pilot was crazy, he thought nothing of diving down then skimming along low then climbing quickly again, gave me a respect of Navy Pilots! All the best Thrilla and I hope you end up as good a pilot as that Lynx guy was.

Yeah the navy still operates the lynx itunes, we're receiving a new version about the same time we get the new carriers.  If i'm selected for rotary my preference is the lynx over the merlin and sea king.

Yep JD it is four years of college.  It's those OCS candidates you have to worry about.  Had the O9Ss in my BCTB at Benning.  A couple were ok but most of them had that "I've gone to college and scored a 85+ on my ASVAB so I'm better than you."  Drill sargents tried to get through to them that when they get done with OCS and get to their duty station listen to your senior NCOs they know more about your job than you do at that current time."  Don't know on how many let that sink in.
