I fully eliminated all stutters and fps drops by getting the newest drivers for my gfx card and defraging the HDD on which AH is installed. Also set all options in the Catalist control center to application controlled.

AH 2 now runs constant at 60 fps with all settings on full and options on (even shadows). Looks absolutly great  :aok

Intel quadcore i7 920
2- Are you running in compatibility mode.

Ok thanks for the info, just needed to verify that a certain state wasn't being mistakenly triggered.

Can you guys with the stutters provide us the following info:

1-Processor type (please specify single or multiple core)
2- Are you running in compatibility mode.
3- Amount of video memory.
4- Amount of system memory.

We think we've narrowed it down but need to verify.

I tried both.

The stutter I described appears even when never having minimized the program during current session at all, it get's gradually better, but doesn't disappear completely, just less annoying. It seems that some things have to "appear/happen" for the first time, then no more stutter. For example when having used the clipboard several times, it doesn't stutter as much when I open it gain.

Having the game minimized and coming back makes things only worse. (Along with that annyoing 30sec waiting time for the world to build up ;) )

I had close to same problem but mine was only for a 10-20 seconds, then world back up but "blotchy" until after going back to desktop via Windows key and back again. I'm beginning to believe it's a routing issue to the new game, ( if their on new servers ), and everyone with problems are experiencing "hiccups". Anyway A8Tool turned me onto Game Booster, ( a free program ), and so far no stutters after two hours of play, ( keeping fingers crossed ). Go to www.iobit.com and D/L game Booster and give it a try. Hope this helps.

The compatibility mode they are talking about is playing AH in Windows 98/SE compatability mode. But since your have only a single core CPU not sure if this is a problem for you.

Add me to list.

Low end rig, FR steady at 40-50 with annoying stutters every 5 seconds or so.
