Ok, here is my problem with this.

I went offline, tried it and realized that this is not something you actually "do".

The AOA and speed at which you are falling vertically with any combo of flaps and throttle is either going to put you nose first in the dirt, stalled out on the pull, or if performed correctly, attempting to stick and rudder your crosshairs over a moving tank and pulling off a 1-1.5 second burst prior to pulling out with your wheels kicking up mud.

So whats my problem?????

Practice.............. this can only be done with practice, and if I wanted to work, I wouldnt be playing a game 

Thanks for taking the time and making a positive contribution to the thread. Everyone else, oh about 1/2 dozen, I reported to skuzzy. He can deal with them. A few of them time and time again bust up threads, in fact they do little else. Im really surprised this company puts up with them because theres a large portion of their base that feels they cant even use the forum because of the sarcasm and stupidity. Supposed grown men with all their variations of, "my way of cartoon airplaning is better then yours so you suck".

The trick A8 is to start off slow and then build up your speed as you get used to it. Ive splatted on the ground a few times and no doubt will again. But its the only way I know to get at a tank thats surrounded by flak. If you see me in the game I'd be happy to show you.

No offence Shifty, but i had the pleasure of being in the same squad as Rich, your supposed description of him above is completely wrong. The video posted by him was informational only, and to help those that need help, or have questions on how to do something. Im sure the posts title was just a response to people alledging that he is cheating when he is popping tigers in his IL2. Maybe of some of the accusers would take the time to watch it, instead of acting like 4yrolds when they loose their cartoon tank,they would realize that it is possible.

I want to make it crystal clear that this is not an attack on you Shifty, just an observation after reading what you posted, that coupled with knowing Rich, and past experiances flying with him.

Mbailey, it's good to defend someone if you feel they are being unjustly accused.  I've tried to explain to Rich on many occasions that insult and mockery are not valid forms of argument, but he didn't want to follow my advice.  The results are very entertaining.

just wanted to pop into this one and say thanks.

i tried this way last night in mw. it netted me 2 kills, and 2 assists, on guys that're really good in gv's. the assists came in my 38 o doom.......'cause i just HAD to see if a 38 could kill em from that angle. it probably could, but not in my hands yet.

 the 2 kills came in a P39Q. admittadly, i only FUBARED em, as there was a countryman on the ground, and he finished em, giving me the kill.
 i think with some practice, i should be able to finish em. i tried with combat trim on a couple times.....no way no how does that help. the plane was bouncing around so much as it constantly tried adjusting, i couldn't hit much more than the dirt.
 without combat trim, i just lined em up, and fired a few bursts. it is a little hard for me to put a lot of rounds on target right now though..........
 

i should also add, that it rather amazed me that two of them(both a wirbel and an osti) in close proximity to each other, both firing on me, neither one of em put a single round in me while i was using this method.

 one of em is notoriously good in his gv's too. i won't name names though.
