One of the greatest WWII Pacific flicks ever!!! (Image removed from quote.)
Always wanted to be a Naval Aviator, but between the Diabetes and the eyes, this is the closest I could get.
WWII was the 2nd, and truest of air to air combat era's. There were no computers, barely radar. Just you and your bird. You never told her what to do, you did it yourself.

This game gives me something that I can't get out here in the real world... A chance to fly the way THEY flew. When flying was the great frontier!
Yup...the golden age of dogfighting...nowyou keep a bead on the enemy for a half-second, then pull a trigger and ur targets outa the fight, and almost surely dead....back then, there was chivalry, a bond between the pilots. I heard a story a few days ago from my World History teacher. During the Battle of Britain The British bomber/ fighter escort pilots would get shot up and fake engine troubles, and land in nuetral Switzerland, and the German pilots would do the same, they would make friends with each other, play cards, go to henhouses, etcetc. they would part and be enemies again.
I dunno how it relates to this thread, but is it just me, or did the americans REALY hate their enemies as a whole? like...just completely hating their German/Jap enimies, where as the British were more...leniant?
