Yes, but all I'm saying is you wouldn't pay hundreds. I wasn't saying the rate should be 3 cents, I was just using that as an exapmle.

But that is a good idea, a daily rate for every day you play. hows about 1$ a day sound or 15$/month. The rate is doubled, HTC stays in business as long as people don't start suddenly playing once a week.

And while were on it, why not make it avalable for debit cards? It would help a lot of the squeakers out there....

only people that would use the hourly option  would be the ones who play less than 15 hrs a month.  now lets say that 1000 people switch to hourly rate, so now u have 1000 paying less than 15 a month.  now guess how ah is gonna make up that income loss.

a: sell the sheep
b: force skuzzy to sell his furniture at the amish flea market (j/k skuzzy)
c: increase the montly rate to make up the lost income

btw I pay with a debit card.  always have, always will.  have an account set up just for ah.  I remember the aol hourly rate for aw, i had to use my american express corporate card, never did pay that bill  :(.  gamestorm charged $10.  at todays rates $15 is not bad.

Ok, here's a suggestion... have a single system, but make it work like this....

Take the average amount of hours/days that all accounts play each month.  Divide $15 by that amount and you get your hourly/daily rate.   Now just make it so that once a person hits that average playtime and therefore $15, they aren't charged anymore money.

If the average playtime of all subscribers is around 30 hours, that equates to 50 cents an hour.

Lets say Ronnie plays 13 hours:  Ronnie pays $6.50 that month.

Now lets say Josie plays 118 hours:  Josie pays only $15, because she has exceeded the maximum billing.

I doubt HT will change their system, but if they did, I would think something like this would make sense without changing for the worse how much they charge their loyal customer base. while maybe encouraging busy people who don't have much time to drop by every once and a while and not feel like they are losing money in their subscription.   And honestly, they can set their hourly/daily rait however they want, but the important thing is they have a maximum amount somebody has to pay.

i think your looking at this all wrong.. if someone wants to pay hourly let.. that means more money for HTC to hire another coder and start adding more things

How about HTC charge $2 an hour for anyone who climbs over 7k or flies in a mission of more than 10 guys. Double the hourly charge if they meet both criteria...

Even back when WB was 2$ an hour there was a 10 hour minimum.
You telling me you don't ever fly more than 7 hours a tour?

Flat rate pricing was the best thing that ever happened to AH.
All of a sudden instead of trying to pay for 2 $ an hour for enough time to get good enough to have a chance. You pay 15$ a month and can fly all you want. You can afford to take months climbing the learning curve instead of hours.

Just pray that HT never gets the idea of charging for each plane we roll or we'll all be going broke.

I think it should only be fair to force dr7 to pay for every tank he kills.

Please god no, then HT would retire, the sheep would get sold for mutton, Skuzzy would have to move to India and become an telephone tech support person.  :D

1. HTC Is a business.
2. You are not just paying for time used, you are also paying for the time it took to create AH.
3. Convince me it is beneficial for HTC and I will consider a change.
4. To put things into perspective when I was playing online sims a lot $600 to $800 a month bill was not uncommon for me.

My flight sim career went down the toilet very quickly.... years ago when my wife (who handled the bills) saw the credit card bill for hourly.

Hitech, what is the total it costs to keep AH2 up and running, make payments, pay employees, make additions

And what is the net gain HTC is making. If its 2mill after all those deductions you have nothing to complain about.

I'm not complaining, I'm asking so we can find a suitable hourly or daily rate.

LOL!!!! like he is going to give out that kind of info !!!

I think if HTC added an hourly payment plan IN ADDITION TO the monthly plan they already have it would help the OP, and might bring a few more in. Keep the $15 monthly fee for those of us who have no life  :D and the hourly rate for thos who only jump on for an hour or two a month, or those that only jump on for a senario, or an FSO now and then.

Of course we can all look at it llike this.

WE all get to fly AH for free. The charge of $15/month is for the membership to be able to fly. There now we all are getting the same value. Now the hourly charge wish is negated since your hours of flight are free but if you still wish to pay for the hours you fly I am sure HT will be more than willing to accept any additional funds over and above the $15/month. :D

Reasonable for who?

As someone stated above, $.03 isn't going to pay the bills.  If you actually play less than 15 hours a month, then why not make it $1.00/hour or even $.50 an hour.

If you compare what you spend on anything else per month to the $15 you spent on AH2, you're getting a bargain.  Skip those 2 fast food lunches or those 4 cups of coffee.

No one is forcing anyone to play AH2.  If some people want to pay more than the $.50 a day I'm paying, I say let them. Add an hourly rate.  If they're looking for a "bargain" then they're SOL.
