Absolutely amazing.

Imagine a BoB scenario/event that features 109E-4s and 110C-4s against SpitIs and HurriIs over that kind of cityscape...
.. would probably be the most compelling, inspiring BoB event ever, in the history of MMO combat sim game...

This is by far one of the most amazing developments I've seen since first getting to know AH.

You've really outdone yourselves on this one HTC, Kudos.

I was thinking the same thing.  B17s bombs falling on Berlin. B17s 109s falling from the sky with that in the back ground :-)

Thanks Pongo, that makes sense.

On a more serious note
A suggestion.

A strat target like a spit or B17 factory  or some other high end plane that would effect the availability similar to what we had in air warrior.
Reason being is it would provide a reason to defend it.
Its my observation that with the exception of HQ. And not even always then. few people bother to up and tray to defend the strat targets. If you aint bombing a feild. people more often then not  are not interested in putting forth any real effort to defend it. As a result. Strat targets have become little more then places to milkrun and pad bomber scores as there is usually little to no resistance.

Perhaps tie such strat targets to a particular zone so as not to deny any given aircraft to the entire arena.
Orrr have a host of factory strat targets spread throughout representing many aircraft. Perhaps make them large enough that it would require a combined effort to completely reduce the availability of said aircraft rather then one lone set of lancs comming in and lone wolfing it.

This would provide bombers a real reason to bomb them. And the defenders a real reason to defend them

With all the easily destroyable targets lumped together and possibly massive downtimes, it's more of an incentive. It'd be much moreso if the fuel were porkable again...fighter jocks can't live without gas.

If you make it so factories are tied to planes, the hording will be even worse. Imagine having to defend in spitIs or c202s because the horde destroyed the factories belonging to the more competitive planes.

He doesn't have to imagine. It existed in Air Warrior.

Very nice work. :salute

Very much looking forward to the new strat system , and how targets are going to be 'incorporated" into the city structure. Will make our type of bombing more immersive. Now all we need is a 512x 512 ETO, stand alone radar emplacements, subpens , and the cities in the right places...7 days a week, and I'll set up home in there.  :)

Your right. I dont have to imagine it.I can remember it vividly.  :)
By the time the horde got to the point where they could bomb the spit factory at will unopposed "the war" had already become irrelevant and the ending was a mere formality.
Not that there werent times where the all but vanquished managed to mount a comback. It did indeed happen.
But still it was only one type of plane. And if your country cant successfully wage a war without any one plane. including spits. It deserves to be over run.

Spits are important enough to enough people that people will try to defend its factory. But the same can be said of other planes and GVs as well. F4's, La's, Now P47's, B17's.
Tigers, Shermans

Some of the best fun I had playing AW was either bombing the spit factory. Or trying to defend it. and I then as now didnt even fly spits.
If you were successful bombing it. It was an accomplishment. If you were successful defending it. It was an accomplishment Particularly against the death stars.

IMO the spit factory option was one of the greatest assets the game had.
And hey. It only stayed down for 15 min. I propose the same type time frame be implemented here.
