we cannot manage the never ending alert sound (siren), imagine a world full of sounds -- FPS hit ? -- .  IMO this request is not a priority despite it is an interesting one.   Moreover if we are going to hear wind blowing I want wind added in MA too !

And to think, not one person in this thread has yet mentioned the fact that ambient sounds could be included in a client side soundpack...and I'm guessing no one has considered making such a request to one of the people creating sound packs yet...  ;)
Sure the could be included, but they wouldn't do anything. Sound packs only replace default sounds in the game, you can't replace sounds that don't exist.

I'm pretty sure you can manage it. In fact, my siren sound has been replaced with lovely orchestral sounding music. Far less brutal on the ears.

Not really, as most of that stuff can be done client side only. You and I don't need to see the exact same refugee running away in the exact same manner.

Things like Cows, Pigs, and sheep can be static terrain objects, so would take no more server/bandwidth resources than a standard terrain would, as to the game they are just buildings or trees. Refugees running away is also something that can be done client side, as unless they would be strafable, there'd be no reason to keep track of them from the server.

Actually, farm animals would look better if they moved a little too - like short replayable animations. If that was done and the same principal was applied to running troops, it would improve the look of the game. The downside would be the amount of effort needed to code the stuff. If HTC could find a way of importing and using 3rd party 3D short animation sequences (switched off for low end machines, only viewable at close range) that would be quite nice - adds to the immersion. Short sequences to refuel planes, tankers exiting from GVs, crew members on carriers, civilians running around in towns etc. etc. and they could get the community to do it rather than spend time doing it themselves.
Here we are, living on top of a molten ball of rock, spinning around at a 1,000mph, orbiting a nuclear fireball and whizzing through space at half-a-million miles per hour. Most of us believe in super-beings which for some reason need to be praised for setting this up. This, apparently, is normal.

i want the WAAF`s to wave me off each sortie

"As usual, I was the last man to board, doing my checks. It was a bright summer evening but somehow nothing seemed to be going right. Jack, the tail gunner, had a little Scottie pup; it was following me around until I managed to find one of the fitters to tie it up in the hut. Then I hauled myself on board ready to start the engines. The ground crew waved us clear and we taxied out to take our place on the line-up. Soon, it was our turn on the runway. The usual crowd of WAAFs, waving the planes off, was our last sight as we opened up the engines for take-off. "David Scott, a Lancaster bomber flight engineer, who became a PoW in Nazi Germany. You can lower the siren sound in game in the prefrences/sounds.
You can also make a recording of nothing  and replace the airraid.wav file  Or replace it with  birds chirping if you like. but I suspect for the length of the loop allowed that would quickly get just as old and annoying as the air raid siren

Sure the could be included, but they wouldn't do anything. Sound packs only replace default sounds in the game, you can't replace sounds that don't exist.

Sounds are all user side.
And while all these suggestions sound nice (no pun intended). I doubt your going ot see them make it into the game anytime soon.
Custom sounds can have an effect on how well the game may run. Can you imagine what a bunch of new sounds would do?
And besides. The idea is to go out of the tower and play the game. If your in a plane or tank, the one thing you normally dont hear.

Yes? That doesn't change the fact that you can't make new sounds. You can only change the ones that are supplied in the game. If you'd like to prove me wrong, there's a very simple way to do so.

I have to disagree, a lot. Especially with tanks, where people spend a pretty significant amount of time with your engine off. Or on cruiser or field guns. Even if you're just sitting in the tower waiting for FSO to start. I'd be that most people spend at least half as much time in the tower/in a GV with your engine off as they do in the air.

+1 :aok  I particularly like this idea. ==>

Ambient noises, nature sounds like birds chirping, waves crashing and such are also things that can be found pretty commonly in most games, and that ambient noise adds to immersion instead of constant dead silence. These aren't things people think about, and if done right wouldn't be noticed, but would add a 'feel' to the game

I'd still like to see these, or at least hear some sort of opinion on some of them from HTC on why they wouldn't work...

Also like to 'add' this-

'Grass' would be nice too. I've seen this in several games. Basically it seems to be a basic colorless 2d 'sprite' (I think that's the word for it) that takes the color of the ground under it and is displayed in large volume on the ground. It works very well to break up the ground at ground level-very low altitude better than bump mapping (which works well a bit higher up) in the games I've seen it in. IMO the ground in AH still looks 'funky' from ground level.

This is an example I found from Rise of Flight.

I like the idea, it would be a little more immersive to look down at the rudder pedals and see legs and feet.

It isn't terribly important, but it would be different. It may also be difficult to 'coad' and look realistic, but I think HTC could pull it off.

Yes please, have it with an on/off switch to please the lower end guys.  Would be great to see the feet work the pedals, maybe even twitching and scratching sometimes (also with an on/off).

Chute sound, that's easy as pie.  The trick is the timing.  Birds chirping, but with some birds that you can shoot!  Sheep, that you can make into mutton with your tank treads!

+1 To everything, maybe not the shower girl though.  It would get kind of creepy after a while
