Bailing from goon or M3 and still capturing base....
« on: November 17, 2009, 02:01:05 PM »
I doubt this happens much in LW arenas but happens enough in MW to drive me nuts.  It should not be possible to drop troops, bail from your M3 or Goon and the base stop flashing while troops still running.  This needs to be changed so that if you bail either all your troops die regardless if you respawn or not or at least leave the base flashing still.  Makes it WAY to easy to sneak bases in MW.

LOL! I love it when a resident milk runners rats out the other resident milk runners in the MW.

I'm sure you did the same thing to take the base back! MW base takers make me laugh.

So you'd never have to shoot troops, just rob the goon of his victory by shooting him.  Ppppppppppppppt.
I get really really tired of selective realism disguised as a desire to make bombers easier to kill.

yes i do know you dont have to bail to make it stop  lol  and no ACK ACK yuo should know im not a milkrunner  lol  i just think its lame is all.  All im saying is keep the base flashing when the goon or m3 either dies or bails.  troops should make it flash.  Base capture in MW is almost pointless really anyway.  All that work for so little reward.  We just laugh at the nits who reset it almost every time due to the serious unbalance of numbers in there.  Bish dont even try and get reset anymore, we have more fun making it hard for the nits  lol  or at least i do anyway.

Well just sit & wait for a few more minutes by the map room. Nothing more satisfying to jump on 200 & tell the other country how they just waisted 20 minutes flying in the goon only to have there troops wiped out. If you want to upset them this is about the best way to do it. :aok

i agree with you there and have done it many times.  Guess its just a MW thing since numbers are always so low.

No its a good way to capture fields in any arena. It sure beats the smash and grab for 'they didnt expect that' moments.

I would rather it not be changed even though there are times it catches all of us by surprise.

I believe if the guy that drops the troops bails and then re-ups in something else the troops vanish. I was sitting on a CV blasting buffs when he dropped his ord but I believe he must have reupped right away because I was watching his bombs and they just disappeared and the CV didnt take any hits. Im hoping thats what HTC did about the 'bomb-and-bail-for-rank' issue and I think that is what they reported would happen.

This is true for everything except vehicle supplies.

Drop ord, troops, fire a torp, die or bail and re-up and the aforementioned go poof.

Im hoping thats what HTC did about the 'bomb-and-bail-for-rank' issue

It was aimed at the classic "bombNbailers" because they usually watch their bombs hitting first, and those few that didn't could easily adjust by doing so. Having to wait 10 additional doesn't "hurt" them.

What it was meant to prevent (and it succeded at that) was single guys flooding a maproom at ports or coastal Vbases with hundreds of troops all on their own, or upping a PT every 3 seconds and firing more torpedoes than the IJN during the whole war ;)

Of course, as few people are reading release notes at all, I saw many a base capture fail when the troops simply vanished seconds before entering the maproom - the releasing player had obviously upped another m3 :D

On the OP: The player dropping and bailing dies pay a price for that: If the capture succeds, he doesn't get anything for it but a fuzzy warm feeling. No points, no score, no perks.
Sounds fair to me.

Maybe so but I reported the bug to HTC when I discovered a certain someone in the upper ranks was using the bug to bomb in bombers and then up a GV or attack plane to improve their score. I tested it and found it was working like I thought and you can tell someone has tried that because of the 'captured' category in bombers. The more of those they had the more times they tried it and the score would just add up forever. Of course the person I was checking out was also dropping troops from a goon and jumping into an M3... and so on.

This had been going on for YEARS and no one had reported it but plenty of people were abusing it!

I thought so too, until I saw gv supplies still there on the ground.

I've seen troops, bombs and torpedoes disappear....

Didn't Hitech change it so anything dropped and bailed on is considered dead?  I thought this was fixed.
