Gangbanging is getting worse...don't even want to play anymore...

If AH doesn't do something about the gangbanging, I'll be gone, not that anyone will care. I'd like to be on a team that wins occasionally but I could never be a rook or bish.

Don't worry about your 'team' winning, just set goals for yourself or try to get better at a facet of the game.... as long as you're having fun and improving, you're 'winning'.
I never know who I'm fighting, who's winning teh wor, who's got the most bases, ENY... just flying around killing people. If I've killed a few and made it back, I won. If I get shot down, I lose. Either way if I've had fun I win overall.
Relying on a bunch of people you don't know to have fun, especially when half those people are.... eh don't need to go there, is a formula for failure.

Of course if you just want to cry about the war, that's one less whiner I have to squelch on country.

Because the DA is a cesspool populated only with former H2H players who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. The only useful thing to do in there is actually set up a 1v1 duel and hope it isn't interrupted (of course if you go more than 1v1 the aforementioned idiots seem to think it's a free for all and jump right in).

Sad facts:

1)  69 people in the DA.  I repeatedly ask if anyone is looking for a fight and I get no response.  Only the whines about whose Temp picked whose Spit16
2)  Player XYZ gets picked by well known vet (6 years plus in the game) and complains.  Vet response "It is the DA dude.  Are you new here?"

I'd ask for a fix but this is what we got after it was fixed.  I still remember the time were the DA was the place to find the best fighters and learn from them.  It was teh place you were guaranteed to find a fight.  That is how I learned that there are other moves than the HO, gang or run to the ack that the squads I was in were teaching.  A few idiots like JohnnyRa, JhonnyJr, BadBoy etc ruined it for every one.  I still don't get why HT did what he did with it.  

Can we at list change the name?  It is misleading to a few of us

It seems every time I log on Knights are getting gangbanged again. Cowardly rook and bish won't fight each other. Just look at today's map.

You rook and bish will say: "it happens to all teams equally". That is simply not true and you know it.

For the record, I NEVER participate in gangbangs. I always attack the team with the most bases and encourage my teammates to do the same. What fun/glory/satisfaction is there in attacking/crushing an opponent who has no chance of defending themselves because they're hopelessly outnumbered on two fronts?

I'm not whining, just stating facts. It's just frustrating and not fun getting your butt kicked every week because your two cowardly opponents have some sort of "agreement".

The secret to a good furball even if it's lopsided against you.

Pray one of your green guys is a muppet. Suddenly you know which red guys are sticks and which aren't. If you want to land kills attack the hovering hoard staying away from the muppet in its 1 vs. many. Or, if you want a fight, pick on one of the queued up red guys harassing the muppet. If you use a spit1, spit5, I16 or a Brewster the hovering hoard gets confused and mistakes you for a muppet. When you get tired of being ganged, turn off ch200 and up a spit16. They get really offended when you show up in a spit16 for some reason.

Honestly when you bring a muppet with you to a lopsided hoarding furball you can't loose. The whole hoard panics and makes sure to kill the muppet first. You can sneak a minimum of 3 kills before the red guys remember you are there. If you are lucky, the muppet had so much fun making fools of the hoard its on its way back and the hoard will ignore you again. Instead of getting upset, use all the tools at your disposal.

Muppets love to attack hoards. Take advantage of the hoard while it's trying to kill the muppet..........Win - Win......

tend to notice the same Golfr, but typically if one country is super low numbers in one arena; chances are they are hording the heck out of the other arena. 

+1  If you can't handle being outnumberd you can always go to the other arena and horde some hapless bish or rook.

FWIW, I flew  nit last night and had a blast. Teamed up with Shuffler, Silat, Birdo, reyno, and a couple of other guys and went to  kill/frustrate the  rook horde. I only had time for two sorties but mission accomplished, with the help of folks I've mentioned.  Steve 11, Rooks 1. 

Even managed to get several minutes of whines from hordeling Twentyfo. I killed him, then frustrated him in his attempt to get vengeance in his LA7. Good fun.

Thanks to those I mentioned as well as others. It was wave hopping, stick yanking good times.  Special thanks to TwentyFo. I predicted whines from him and he deilvered right on Queue.

Agreed. Was fun down there. Soulyss came down there first and told us it was hopping. We (Silat and Myself)upped as soon as we landed up north. <S>

I was thinking of posting an opinion on this topic anyways. . . I been at this game a little while and I noticed right away that big groups of people were willing to attack one guy already engaged by 3 or 4.  There is no logic or strategy that can explain this strategy, it seems sheer laziness.  That said, I have gotten in the habit of flying low avoiding many and dragging the gang back to their base, while this is occurring my country men are lifting and climbing and looking for incoming cons.  By the time I die with 15 enemies low and slow behind me, we are at the base they started at, and my guys are at 8-10k enroute (hopefully, most have a tendency to loiter with the crowd attacking the one guy who didnt engage me).  I do hate the ganging that occurs, especially when I am already attending to the 3 spit 16s and 2 nikis or Lalas show up ready for a head on collision.   Someone mentioned ENY. . . does that effect anything?  I've been hugely outnumbered by 20 planes with enys less than 8.0 (basically 51s nikis, spit16s, temps) whats up with that?

First off welcome to the game! I've been in that situation too, could be a number of factors really. Sometimes although in the area you are fighting, the enemy might have 10-20 less-than-10 ENY planes, but that might be the only place the team is fighting, therefore they seem to have more. If you get what I'm saying, generally this is not the case, ENY does have its flaws and many people would like to see it changed to in-flight or airfield-based.

But the hording bases with 30 and 40 guys is just pathetic. I see most of the hording from the bish. Not saying any names. But youll always find the same people in the same crowd doing the same exact thing. 

So, if the attackers promise not bring more than 10 guys to attack a base, will the defenders promise not to use more than 10 people total in the manned ack, Gvs and aircraft?

I think when a base is attacked by alot of guys it provides some of the best fighting in the game, win or lose.

There is ALWAYS enough notice given to mount a good defense against any amount of attackers.

If there aren't enough guys available or willing to up for defense--oh well--who really cares if ya lose another base anyways?

The flaw in that approach is that if you're horribly outnumbered in one arena chances are you've got a horde on your side with a 29 ENY in the other. I know the response will be to switch sides, but I like fighting with the same folks consistently. I guess it's like the difference between amateur league play and pickup games at the park, either one has its fans.

As far as being outnumbered, there's a big difference between 3-2 and 5-1. I find being the one in a 5-1 only slightly more fun and interesting than being one of the five. Most of us just can't fight those odds effectively, especially when trying to defend a base or CV rather than flying with the sole aim of landing kills. And you don't learn much that way either, other than just to stay away from those situations, or at least stay 5k above them at all times - in a 1-1 or 2-1 I can usually figure out what mistake I made that got me killed, but in a 5-1 it usually seems like anything I could possibly do still results in at least one bad guy getting a good shot in.

Last night got so bad that I did what I rarely do and just gave up trying to fight the war and went around looking opportunities for smaller and more even fights. I did better than I would have trying to take or defend bases against the hordes, but it just isn't as fun for me. I like to having a larger  something to play for, even if that something is itself imaginary.
