Went in tonight and had some fun fights with Gav. Not much else going on. Two earlier 190s decided not to come back.

lol some guy/girl named fork came over in a 109k4 high. he made about 10 to 12 passes. All I had to do was start a turn and he'd zoom back on his perch. Guess he's new and does not know the K4. I was in LA5 and oversteering terrible. So lite and nimble.

Gav was PMing me saying he was about to fall asleep watching the guy... lol.

Anyway once they get more in there like Gav it'll be great and probably weed out the more timid types.

That attitude there is what keeps the population down more than anything else in my opinion. The "Fly my way or you suck." mentality has brought the level of enjoyment in this game down for many. Fork used is plane in a manner that he chose, focusing on maintaining a superior position and low risk. He has every right to fly that way just as you have to fly at 2,000 feet in a stall fight.

Shuffler never said the guy sucked, just that it was dull.  Personally I wouldn't want to fly some where if all I could expect was someone making failed passes on me over and over.  I like thrills.

That sounds alot like something Storch would post... I wonder what his current in game name is...

Osceola, you'd know who I'm talking about.   I don't care about "who is who".   But when someone provokes and has "carte blanche", that is where I find a glaring issue.   I can squelch people all day, but when a Moderator lies to me to "attempt to even things incorrectly", I lose respect for him.

The CT Arena / AvsA arena

it just needs more players with the mindset of playing on even fields(sides)........

The AvsA is not about 1 vs 1 matchups...... they do happen more frequently or 2 vs 1 or 3 vs 3 fights..but most times it is on even keel

Wotan, BigMax, Oldman, Shane, Gremlin, Redd, Urchin, Levi, Dedalos, Eagler, 1Duke1, MrFork, TheBUG, Shifty, and a slew of others made the AvsA ( well the CT ) what it once became and it is up to use to keep it going.......

one thing it is not is an elitist Arena for 1 vs 1 fights or what have you......... it is an arena where we can go for more historical type plane match ups......

This Arena just takes a certian kind of player, not just another gamer...........

yep...... the AvsA is trying to rid itself of the " ol this is our private sandbox , play our way or get out " mentality that some players / some squads tryed so hard to push on to others........

The AvsA Staff, the Regular Participants that show week in and week out have worked very hard to make the AvsA setups more entertaining for all.....

best thing to do is fight your fight and have fun, and help others when they ask  :aok

if you are fighting another individual in the cartoon skies and you see he is messing up...... offer him some tips..kindly explain to them what they did wrong or tell em what they should do to have a better chance at getting you.....

anti social gestures are better gone unmentioned / un posted .......... instead of stirring the pot.........  be the better person
"When one considers just what they should say to a new pilot who is logging in Aces High, the mind becomes confused in the complex maze of info it is necessary for the new player to know. All of it is important; most of it vital; and all of it just too much for one brain to absorb in 1-2 lessons" TC

In an attempt to see what other Axis versus Allies enthusiasts playing during daytime hours EST, like myself,  were doing that the arena is almost always empty, I posted this thread in that forum http://bbs.hitechcreations.com/smf/index.php/topic,281695.0.html

After reading kilo2's response, I have come to the conclusion that I am speaking to the group that knows as well as I do, that the arena is empty because it is empty.

Is that like the old adage referring to a restaurant, every one goes there because everyone goes there.

You missed the boat, the dock, and the land. I only said he was boring. If that is what you wish to promote in AVA... good luck.

Luckily there was one person that was there to actually fight. I really enjoyed flying against Gav... win or lose, and I lost plenty... kept over steering that little LA.

If yall are not looking for fighter types I will relinquish the AVA to the back burner again.

There were fights shuff...  Ask RV6flyer, 2A's and others.

You and gavagi just seemed to want you're own little dueling session.

The 2 190s earlier never came back. We were looking for others. Unfortunately there were only a few on and no others to be found.

We never setup to duel.... we were just the only 2 there.

So your post is moot since your assuming.... and we know what assuming does.

You caught me while I was on the phone with my sister and then my stick started acting up.  :joystick:  Soooo, you caught me flying distracted, and then when I decided to press, I couldn't concentrate enough.

See what happens when to try to fly and talk on the phone at the same time???!?!?

And no, I'm not new.  I've been flying Aces High since Beta version 1.0, and I'm the longest serving CT/AvA admin.   :old:

When I did get untangled, I managed to run into a tree that was in my way, which send me spiraling at 350mph into the side of a hill, I then managed to get beaten up several times and ditch, and finally when I was ready to make a kill, I accidentally shot my wingman which caused me to depart with my rudder.

The only real kill I could get was me dispatching one of my fellow admins because he was asleep at the wheel. But that felt like kicking a nun.

But you have to admit, it was a lot of fun!  :x
