WOOT!  I get to pick Tira up from the vet this afternoon!  :rock  The doc did tell me this morning that the vet techs have really gotten attached to her during her stay, and would be glad to take her home (No way, Jose).  Apparently Tira's been making friends.   :D

Great stuff AA,when the vet tech's want your dog you know you have a good 1. :aok

I usually buy Kong Balls... :lol.... the largest I can find, the reason I suggest them is the rubber passes easily through the dogs system.Nyla[sp] bones on the other hand while tough and longlasting can cause problems in dogs with strong jaws.

I've had good luck with the tires that Betty mentioned, called either paws or tirebitters,in the large sizes. They dont seem to last as long as the kong's do but every dog is different. If you can find a good cottonlike rope, marine stores are best place to find it,just buy 5 to 10 feet of 1 inch rope and cut to length and tie a knot in it.Hours of fun at next to no cost....

:rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl :rofl that's so wrong!

We got a little  Kong for my 7lb Shih-tzu, that thing will keep her entertained for hours! I found a big one for her, but Im not sure if we threw it out or gave it to my aunts retriever. I'd like to see her tackle that thing!

Glad your pup came through Jager!

Couple of newer pics with the digital camera.  Still not great, we need some work learning the camera and tricking the dogs into posing where we can get a good shot of them.  They seem to always look away just as the shutter clicks, or the pic comes out a bit blurry or off center or whatever.  Still, lots better than camera phone pictures.  We're still trying to get some good shots of Sadie looking as cute as she is in real life.

Lots of cool stories and handsome canines.  The pit poem made me a little misty-eyed (shhhh, don't tell my squaddies).

Maddafinga, I took the liberty (and about 10 minutes with Photoshop) to jazz up the pic of Chico.  Hope you don't mind...it's a handsome beast, and the over-exposure and "dog eyes" made my eyes hurt.   ;)   One thing that really helps with digital pix is to get no closer than about 4-5 feet (6-8 feet better, depending on the camera and flash).  Use the zoom to compose the shot.  Less washout, and the "dog eyes" are easier to fix.

That looks a lot better man, thanks!

Chico really is a good looking dog, I just wish I could get some meat on him, he simply won't put on any weight due to his sickness.  He's a real sweetheart too, it sucks that he's dying.  I really appreciate you touching that up man.

What do you guys think that Chico ( and the rest of the dogs mentioned that are still alive ) read this?  I think that one of them would break down and cry at the poem, I can tell you that it touched my soul for sure.  Thanks for all of the pictures guys, keep sending 'em up here! (and to keep the ball rolling)
