I wear a clip on scarf
My scarf worked its way out of my flightsuit at an airshow that my dad and I were performing at, My plane had no trim tab so you couldn't trim it, and the throttle would vibrate back to idle, so you could not take your hand off the throttle. Right in the middle of our routine, I had pulled up hard to do a wing over infront of the crowd with an SE-5a right on my 6, my dad had saddled up real nice. Just about the time it broke over, it felt like someone had a noose around my throat. I could not take my hand off the throttle, or the stick long enough to get the scarf completely stuffed back into my flight siut. So I floundered around trying to fly, put on a show, and get that white silk noose back to where I could breath. I finally got it stuffed back in some what and turned the smoke on, nothing happened, no smoke, well I turned on final anyway. My plane did not have breaks, not that they were broke, they were not there, so to stop I was going to go in between the lights and run it off in the grass, No big deal. Well when I went off into the grass what ever had plugged my smoke system dislodged, and it REALLY started smoking. By the time I got the smoker turned off, and the smoke cleared from around the plane, the fire dept was already there getting ready to drown me with fire retadant. That is some nasty, sticky smelly stuff there. I managed to get them Not to hose me down, and got back to our parking spaces and at that piont I promised myself to always zipp my flightsuit all the way up, and use a slip knot so it would not happen again.
