WoW! After a slow and tedious start I finally got some online time. Wow again, it's a blast to play and keeps me away from AH! The combined warfare is great and both tanks and aerofighters have their role. The game itself is still rough around the edges but has a tremendous potential. Jumping around in BattleArmour is also fun - actually managed to down a damaged Uller with my single SRM after he took my Raven out.

---

Also I managed to run the 64-bit version with my Steam download (which per se is only 32-bit) with a little help in the MWLL forum. Might be my personal biased perception but it seems to run much smoother on 64-bit than on 32-bit.

Now I long for historical match-ups/scenarios and some more old school 'mechs!

---

Still haven't managed to get my HOTAS working - any hints from the veterans?

Is it just Elementals or did they put in Salamander, Gnome, etc?

The IS has Longinus BA.

Alright - found an instruction in the MWLL forum how to get the G940 working. But it requires the installation of PPJoy which includes unsigned drivers. I tried all the methods I found through google without success. I just can't get PPJoy to be installed under Win 7 64-bit.

What I tried:
 - bcdedit cmd command for testing unsigned drivers which gives me the 'Testmodus' watermark but still fails to install it
 - F8 and select disable driver signature testing

Any hint from the tech-geeks here ?   :headscratch:

I'm still under xp64 ATM. There're a new version being released to supercede the beta within the next month according to the dev notes. Might address some issue. Otherwise try running as administrator

Forgot to mention: I ran then program as administrator and I got UAC disabled...

Somewhere I read that the final version will be based on Crysis warfare - does that mean that vanilla warfare won't suffice to run MWLL? Or are they mabe switchin to the Crysis3 engine? That would solve the problem since it supports multiple joysticks.

Anyway - will try some 3rd party software to circumvent driver signature when I come home today. Aerofighters are a PITA with mouse control...

I am not certain of that. Check the forums. I remember the dev guys saying that it would be a straight Crysis mod - not crysis wars or Warhead. Though i'm not on the dev team - so anything is possible. But what they have is a solid package at the moment.

Just when you get comfortable, here I come and twittle it up. New version released today. Still open beta though.

This particular change has me a bit miffed:  - Decreased Gauss damage agaisnt aerospace, to prevent guaranteed one shot kills. (Those were my specialty)

Please BE WARNED: You MUST delete your existing MWLL beta install folder FIRST, before using the new installer. Please back up any data like your custom maps before proceeding! Note that the installation will not succeed and you might not be able to run the game if you don’t delete the old folder.

Hehe - new versions are always a good thing though!

I just wish I'd get my G940 working and shows those earthworms what a real jock can do with an aerofighter...  :airplane:

Well Started to D/L Crysis and gonna check this out.
I started Mech along long time ago. When FESA had the first game you had to run all over a map and look for people, and items. Finally getting a mech, holy crow that must have been 1990. I think I stopped playing the mechwarrier when Mech 2 came out. But I am definilty going to check this out.

1.2 gig d/l for demo, so will take my dsl awhile.
Looking forward to this.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

4deck - huh?  :headscratch:

Are you aware that MWLL is a mod - or to be specific an open BETA of a mod! And are you aware, that there is a forum where you can find a tutorial about joystick issues!!! It's free and it's the best incarnation of Battletech on a computer to this day!
