Since a ditch is a death in WWI...

I really don't like that. I want to EARN my kills, not get it because the guy ran out of oil 100 yards from the runway.
Ron White says you can't fix stupid. I beg to differ. Stupid will usually sort itself out, it's just a matter of making sure you're not close enough to become collateral damage.

Shooting his wing off or killing his engine isn't earning a kill?  You did take him out and make him go down, didn't you?

Considering the difficulties involved in actually getting out of a furball in the WWI arena, not to mention the challenge of just handling the aircraft in general, if he was able to successfully limp away from any bad guys in range with that sort of damage he's EARNED a no-kill ditch.

I would agree with a caveat.

There should be a trench line between each set of fields.
If you get back across to your side of the trenches, you get a ditch.
If you go down on their side, its a kill/capture.

That I can definitely agree with.

I must say my only dissappointment with the arena was seeing that it will be scored.  The fighting is so fun and furious that my score is gonna be trash forever in that arena.  Oh well... :uhoh

You can have lousy scores and still have lots of fun.

Trust me on this one.

As the MOTD already states (as well as the info page), a ditch counts as a death anyway for K/D.

Whiteman & Ghost I concur.  You folks must admit that score does introduce certain behaviors that are not conducive to the awesome dogfights we all saw last night.  Pilots just behave different.

I think to score well in the WWI arena you need to do the opposite of the MA. I was on the deck the whole time flying totaly wreckless and my k/d shows 4.5 hit % 18. Flying timid in there is a sure way not to get kills and to get killed.
And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.
