I fly as a knight currently and can't remember a time when I wasn't outnumbered on the map......

What, you mean like this?   :bolt:

I'm not complaining, though, the numbers evened out some before too long and it was a great fight.    :rock  But every side has the numbers at some time or another.

  :salute nits at A49 tonight!

The option i would take is shut up and enjoy the abundance of targets, plus who says you have to fly into the largest red dar bar. find a smaller dar bar and go at it.-Yep, what Whiteman said....exactly.(I can't ever get my quote bars right)

As a squad we all fly the same country for a tour and don't switch sides.

If you can't find a Dar Bar to your liking then take an extra minute to climb above the fight and come down on their heads! That is also a great way to drag cons away from the base so your fellow countryman can up from it. Or, grab a friend and drag em for yourselves....... Lots of kills can be had that way.

Who would have thought that this thread makes the case for arena balancing ... HTC should turn it back on ASAP.

The Rooks have higher numbers and perk rides cost too much!!! WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!

Give me a freakin break. I remember plenty of times when Knights had lowest numbers and were being ganged by Bish and Rook hords on both borders. Get over it.

What exactly is the relationship between ENY and arena caps?

In my mind, uncapped arenas should result in less ENY.  There is no artificial restriction on entry.

This is an opportunity to get some data on player patterns in uncapped arenas.  Are player numbers over time available for a Snailman graph?  Between arenas and between countries versus time would be interesting to see.  It would be actual data on player behavior.

You have missed my entire point. I dont mind getting ganged. I mind getting ganged while being forced to fly a 20 eny plane, and having 100 perk 262s picking the entire time. This is something that is happening now that was not happening in the past.

Oh no hear we are once again...a Rook whining about getting run over when it happens once in a blue moon. However they (Rooks) can't stick around and fight in the lower numbers arena when they have complete and free run of the arena with 5-10 players compared to 1-3 for Bish and Knights each. The last three days I log on in the mornings for a few quick sorties before work and fight some of the same guys...as soon as I shoot down the one or two that are attacking different bases; almost the whole group leaves for somewhere else...coincidence...not likely since they end up on the Rook side in the other arena almost immediately...which then has a 10-30 player advantage on the Bish and Knights in the other arena.

This all stems from large squads. Too many squad COs with this stupid loyalty to a chess piece. They say, "No! We're a Bish squad!", or "No we're a Rook squad!", and that keeps large groups of guys flying on the other side.

If your buddies get mad at ya , they wasn't your buddy to begin with. I fly where i want to fly and you can too. If your squad don't like it....well you're in the wrong squad.

What exactly is the relationship between ENY and arena caps?

What appears to be happening is that when arena balancing is not in effect, everyone flocks to the Orange Arena, and it appears that the Rooks have the most amount of players, at this point in time, playing the game.

If balancing was turned back on, it would force Rooks to populate both the Orange and Blue arenas and most likely would balance their 'total' population across the 2 arenas, which in turn would most likely not result in the huge ENY penalty that they are now seeing.

Uptown, did you play Little League Baseball as a kid?

If so, how many times during an average season did you switch teams?

If the answer is "none," was that because of loyalty to a shirt, or loyalty to the team?

BigR,

Is your real complaint the recent phenominon of the bish "Coward Cloud" of up to 60 aircraft swamping and rolling rook feilds one at a time even if the rooks have a higher number of players on the map?

ENY is worthless against that. In fact it's to the advantage of the bish by allowing thier mostly lame fighter support to fly high ENY planes in the safety of the cloud. So someone has turned ENY to the littel guys advantage just like HiTech INTENDED. You cannot blame the few reasonable bish players who tag along for doing so to pick up easy kills. We all take advantage of such clouds from time to time. The recent phenominon is just taking advantage of a higher number of newer players on the bish side these days who want to win without effort. And, can you blame the knights for not fighting the bish while they have a breather to fight a single side? Especially if ENY gives them an edge along with only one enemy for the night.

It took a few years but, ENY is finally working as designed. Remember, HiTech does not care if you only want to fly rooks. You are making a personal decision to help rookland suffer from high ENY like every other rook who won't change sides to make the country numbers even. If there were no ENY, rookland's high player numbers could easily fight one country and roll the other with high ENY aircraft. Thats why HiTech implimented ENY because Rookland used to up 300+ players and swamp the other two countries almost one night a week for awhile.

So BigR, are you asking HiTech for the 300+ rook player nights with high ENY planes back again?
