I've heard good things about them. When/if I need headphones I'd probably go for them due to the fact they use 3.5mm(over USB) for your soundcard and have 3.5mm splitters so you can keep your speakers hooked up as well.

I use that same HPA2 headset also K, and I love it.  The sound is great and the mic is great.  It comes with a set of splitter cables too, so you can hook up your headset and run your speakers at the same time.  Very comfortable once the initial stiffness wears off.  You can wear them for a long time with no problems.

I screwed a metal towel hook to the side of my desk, and hang them there when they're not being used.  That way the girlfriend's 8 year old daughter doesn't accidentally do something to them while she's on the puter.

I can't recommend the HPA2 enough man.

I have an ol'  phones with an Audigy 2Z platinum card. The Plantronics are failing at the in line volume control point and if I can't perform successful surgery upon it, it shall be replaced. Any headphone non-inline volume control  recommendations out there?

If you are going to spend that kind of money then go ahead and get these from Dakmart.

BTW these are the best headphones I have EVER used in the last 20 years of playing PC games.

I have a set and really like them for gaming.  But I bought a set of Grado SR125 for personal listening of music.  The Turtle Beach are for gaming and not very good for listening to music.

I have a set of the Grado SR125's, they are a great set of headphones for music listening.  I also own a set of the SR60's which for $60 roughly offer great bang for the buck.

Stereophile review of the SR60i's (recently replaced the SR60's).

and the review for the SR125's

No mic, and no surround sound, but if you like listening to music a good set of headphones can be a great way to get good performance and fidelity of sound w/out breaking the bank.
