My favorite Striper fishing video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=14rgKfH607M&feature=related

Sad that this thread is dying, I really wanted Skuz to add a sticky to it since it was such a popular thread and was a great addition to the O' club.

Okay, I want a reply to this one. Who is excited for this upcoming Autumn? Should be excellent fishing this year in KY with all the hot weather deterring the fishing pressure. Going to be some great Smallmouth action in Elkhorn Creek and Dale Hollow Lake. Great Crappie and Bass in Cedar Creek Lake and EXCELLENT Musky fishing in Cave Run and Green River Lakes. For those of you that live even remotely close to KY, I recommend you come over here, buy a liscence, and start fishing as soon as late September arrives!

If your State's Autumnal fishing is going to be or should be spectacular like ours should be, reply and tell us about it!

I'm really excited about going through steelhead season with a fly rod, I've gotten small ones with salmon eggs but I hope to get my first on a fly rod this winter!
Btw, if you have any suggestions that would be appreciated.

No call down here in KY for Steelhead or Salmon at all. Almost nothing for trout since the main trout lake in the state has low water because of a dam repair... :rofl   Now there are just a bunch of trout streams that are situated around. I can tell you that a lot of people use trolling and around 3 1/2" stick-baits for salmon and steelhead (from what I've read from fishing and trolling books over the past 6 years). Other than that, I got nothin'.

HOwdy all, just wanted to bump this thread

And to let you know that if your looking for fishing lures, I have saved a fortune looking on ebay for them.

I just recently bought 30+ new lures (all name brands) for pennies on the dollar. I dont believe it took me this long to look to this as a source of lures!!!  You can find anything, and i mean literally anything. Heck i even found some lures that i use to use as a kid.

Just a heads up, its nice to save a buck here and there now a days

Also, Im looking for suggestions for rods and reels for my kids  (spinning reels and both kids are 10yrs old, boy/girl twins ) We mainly freshwater fish and im looking to update them into better equipment. Im thinking 1 outfit for panfish / and 1 outfit for larger fish ( bass, walleye, channel cats, muskie etc.....) any suggestions, or any feedback?

First off, THE THREAD LIVES!!!!! Muhahaha!  :x :x :x

Second, I would suggest a simple ultralight shakespeare rod and reel combo (I prefer spin reels but that is just me).

There is a huge difference between a bass and a musky.

For bass I suggest a medium action rod, around 7' I LOVE Quantum brand. I have had a Quantum 8 ball bearings reel for 6 years, been with it to the ocean, very low maintenance, and still casts like the day I got it.

For musky I would recommend Light catfish gear, musky are surprisingly line wary so I suggest about 14 lb test at max with low drag. A nice medium-heavy/heavy rod with a nice catfish spin reel.

Like in the OP, use a tiger plug. Those work wonders.

I myself use a Medium Heavy St Croix for Bass and Musky, it has the back bone to handle both, and i have caught many a lunker of both species on it. Im thinking something Medium heavy but just smaller to fit them, and i dont think St Croix makes anything like that. Also i use an Okuma Titus 50 reel on my rod, but thats a bit expensive for a 10yrold. Ill look into your suggestions. Quantum products have always been good. Im a bit stuck on the rod though.Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Musky fishing around me is pretty good, we hammer them on big bucktails and Husky Jerks.

Not Zebco or BASS PRO SHOPS XST (I think?) brand

Aside from that you can't do too bad aside from a mediocre quality Shakespeare. Quantum and Shimano are good brands.
