Smaller reds are great. The larger ones you need to deworm.

Took my family to Gulf Shores, Alabama last week for vacation and spent the early mornings and late evenings on the pier fishing with my daughter.

Hey Lambo, hav you ever consider adopting a 40yrold kid that has a job and does yardwork?  :D  (i have good references, just ask my wife  :lol)

Great pics sir, Im chomping at the bit to get out. Im hoping the weather stays calm this weekend for some (surf) Striper fishing.(yes thats Striper with 1 p, if i fished for the other spelling with 2 p's, the wife might get upset  :lol)

Monday im picking up my new boat for the local lake. 18ft Crestliner with a 20hp 4stroke Johnson (Lake i fish is 20hp max), It is owned by an oldtimer that has fished the lake for years. This thing is set up perfect for any type of fishing, from going in and out of timber and weedbeds with the electric motor, to open lake trolling for Walleye or Hybreds with the 2 down riggers, and drift fishing the bay for Fluke, Stripers etc. Has a brand new trailer, 2 fishfinders (1yrold Hummingbirds) GPS etc ...Its 3yrs old and im getting it for $3000.00 Guy selling it cant run it alone anymore, said because of his age he just doesnt have the balance that he use to, and is worried about running it alone, he hates to sell it,  said he loves the thing but if he cant opperate it alone safely, its time to pass it along ....I looked at him and said " theres lots of room in the boat, and i could always use another fishing buddie"  Im really hoping he takes me up on the offer, real nice "salt of the earth" type guy with a long of knowledge to pass along.:aok............Finally getting back on the lake for well needed R&R.

LOL mbailey, I could use some help in the yard. speaking of which as soon as I get woke up good I'm heading out to cut grass.

Congrats on you boat also, that's a great deal on one for sure.

Flench, I haven't eat a Red yet, but a friend of mine that studied marine biology told me the same thing as Shuffler said, the small one's are great, the big one's can get a type of grub in them but not all do. To my understanding the grub is harmless to humans, just have the gross factor.

Yeah Ive caught a lot of big crappies on those types of plugs. A lot of fishermen dont know how agressive crappie can be running down lures.

Hey Rich , I had no idea . It was like , you know how you just stumble onto something ? That's how I found out crappie would hit these plug's , bass fishing . There not like a regular plug really and the only place you can get them is in town here where they make them . Trying to get them to sponsor me next year in the crappie master here in MS next year .
I will take pic's as I go tomarrow and post them then I get in .
EDIT: I want a GoPro Camera ! cry cry

Flench! I think I can help you keep more bass from hooking up. Crappie attack more often from the side than anything. Bass, however, will usually suck prey in from behind. Take the back hooks off and keep the front hooks on. Bass will hit, but won't get hooked unless they hit the front hook, the crappie that hit will hit the side and get hooked there more often than the bass will. Try it out and see how it works!
