Anyone been getting out?  The bite went to crap for me and it's dark out at 6:30 so I haven't even been wasting the time for the past couple weeks.  On the plus side it got below freezing last night.

Winter is coming.

Went out on Perris today - high of 87, water temp at start was 74.3. Water was murky due to the amount of rain in the last few days - missed the only 2 bites I had all day, but had a fun day with a good friend. Broke out the reaction baits, frog, big worms on a shakey head, craws on a jig, you name it, we pretty much threw it. Recovered at 1pm, after an hours frogging over the tyres - no fish, but broke the rust on pretty much everything, so all good.

Winter is coming.

Curse you!

Haven't been out the last couple weeks been bit by the bow hunting bug.  I am hoping to get out at least one more time, but I'm not so sure that's gonna happen.   :(

How's the Bow hunting going?

This is my first year bow hunting and I am having a blast.  Seeing way more deer than gun season.  Have had many deer close and just couldn't take a shot because they were bucks (which was closed in my area for the first two weeks this year) or if I moved I would of got busted.  Finally got my first shots last Saturday morning about 5 mins apart from each other too.  First shot, on a big doe, I haven't a clue how I missed it.  Just had to be inexperience, cause I really choked it.  Got home and busted out the target cube and was nailing it. So disappointed in myself there.  Second shot about 5 mins later on another big doe I was pushing it trying to thread it through some saplings and the arrow contacted something.

Normally for me hunting wouldn't of trumped fishing, but with bow hunting I've found myself choosing sitting in that stand instead of the boat.

Where I've been spending my weekends  :)  The leaves aren't so green any more though.

Wow gorgeous view......Main reason I hunt is for the views, and the quiet time. Actually getting something is just a bonus     My favorite is being in the woods when its snowing, and its so quiet you hear the flakes hitting the ground  :aok

My son was going to bow hunt this year, but I nixed it.......not enough practice in my eyes. Cool thing was he understood.

I think tomorrow we may take the 22s for a walk in the woods, small game opens....and ive been dying to get my new Henry out.

Being outdoors, water or land, is my religion.

Good luck tomorrow.

Wow. I haven't been here in over a year and you folks are still killing it with this thread.  :aok

I haven't been out to the lake much since Dad passed, but I intend to go back out this spring and kick some bass!

Thanks again for proving how enduring our sportsmen are.
