Bomb salvo issue
« on: August 01, 2010, 06:23:34 PM »
When in the bombardier position I have selected a salvo of 24/16/12 etc with a delay.  I drop the bombs, they are leaving the bomb bay.  I jump to gunner and bombs quit dropping.

I think the salvo should continue to drop.

I don't think this is a bug... I think this is the way the game is designed. You must stay in the bombsite until all of the bombs are out of the bomb bay or
they will cease to drop as you have already experienced.

Think of it this way...you are either the Bombardier, or a Gunner...you cannot be both of them at once; so once you leave the Bombardier's position and take up Gunner duties within the aircraft, the Bombardier quits working.

Just a thought...

Same thing if you're in an M3 dropping troops. If you leave the driver's seat to man the 50 cal, the troops stop exiting the vehicle.

Autopilot continues to function when one leaves the pilot position.

My point is, I press the bomb release and let go of the button.  Bombs are dropping per my salvo and delay setting.  I jump to another position and they quit leaving the bomb bay.  I go back to bombardier and the eggs start dropping again with no action from me.

Once the bomb drop is initiated the the mechanical/electric function of the bomb release should continue.

Too lazy to type:

This is new and may actually be a bug.

You can't do anything and jump to a gun or go to F3 now and have it complete the action.  I took off in a B-25H last night, hit the gear raise selector and hit F3 to look around.  Gear stopped as soon as I was in F3.  Back to F1, raise gear and stopped in F3 again.

I agree with you Wrongway.  It must be a bug.  It didn't use to be this way sometime ago.

I wonder if we can get some HTC input on this?
