Have you played a 3002DB yet?

No. I picked up the PzIV last Friday and made it to the Hummel Sunday night. I'm learning the Hummel right now, and working toward the JagdPanther from the JPIV, which is going slowly because I need another 20k experience, and I'm not doing well in the JPIV, so my experience average is way down. I skipped the 3002DB, because the average over all performance didn't look that much better than the 3601H I already had, and I was busy getting the Tiger finished to get to the Tiger II. I am has happy with the Tiger II as I was unhappy with the Tiger. I'm planning to sell my JPIV to buy the JagdPanther, so I don't have to buy a slot. Now wanting to buy another slot, at least right now, is another reason I skipped the 3002DB. I don't want to buy any slots until the US stuff gets here. I'm sort of unhappy that we're not getting a Pershing or an M-18, so my enthusiasm for buying slots is not high.

Right now the PzIV, the 3601H, and the Tiger II are sitting, as I learn the Hummel and grind towards the JagdPanther. And even that has stopped today, because I'm finishing up paper work and research and going racing for the weekend in about 4 hours. So I'm sure I won't have the JagdPanther before Monday night.

By the way, the next update patch has been officially scheduled for the 18th and 18th, next week. It's small, reduced from the original announcement, the teleporting issue is not resolved with this patch. And the next patch after that is still 4-6 weeks away. They are now saying there'll be at least one more soft wipe before the open beta is finished, probably to allow the 15 member teams and the clans.

When I say the IV is "better" I'm basing it on the same observation as Virgil, its the best "earner" I've got. I'm getting more and more 20k runs in it and it always gives me a 3/1 return or better. I don't know if its possible to fight a 3601 the same way. I've got the pzIII/IV/Wespe as my main money makers. I normally get about +35,000 for every cycle. The Leopard is more fun but has a more variable return. It's much more trackable it seems...

I've got the hummel and tiger as my "developmental" rides....

It is possible to run the 3601H the same as the PzIV. It's just that it has more armor (same as a Tiger) and more hit points, so it gets you into the mentality of fighting it more like a heavy. I get hung up on it still, myself.

Now, the 3601H, in the exact same situation, is not going to earn like the PzIV, because it factors out as a much higher tier tank. A maxed out 3601 is classed about as high as a half decent Tiger. When you go into a battle, see where you're ranked on the roster, and you'll notice how high the 3601H normally is, I've been ranks the same or above a Tiger. So it earns like a Tiger, or less, since it can't take as many hits. But if you use the 3601H like a PzIV, you'll survive more often than you will in the PzIV, if you're careful not to allow the extra attention it gets to get you shot a lot more. When you survive, you're more likely to win. When you win you get a 50% bonus, and when you survive a 50% bonus as well. That's how you make a 3601H pay.

All tanks are competitive. Not all the tanks in game are intended to be giant killers. The lower tier tanks make good scout killers and scouts. Flying around in a pzIII is a blast, and it's very satisfying to work your way to the enemy rear and blast their arty. Slogging it out with larger tanks is not the role it's suited for nor is it the best way to help your team. No bracket is "impossible to compete"

If you are at the end game and largley outclassed, it just means your team got outplayed...kind of like being in a chess game and you may have just a knight left against a queen and a couple of rooks. You're outclassed but simply got outplayed

Ok, that makes me feel better, but I'm still confused about the arty...why is it I don't do much damage % with mine, but get 1 shot by other arty? like I said I have a SU-26 with all upgrades. Is it just the SU-26 that is junk?

It's not junk, it's just not that powerful as a low tier arty. It works just fine against lower tier tanks and can be quite a killing machine. A fun piece of arty for a low tier.

Damage by arty varies alot by tiers. You can see the damage of each arty gun via the research tree view, when you click on a vehicle and then click on a gun. A low tier arty might be impotent against IS4, but SU14 will blow up a low tier tank with a close miss.

Can't seem to get in to the game through the Updater Launcher, but opening the game through the main WoT.exe it works.  Have been playing for the past 2 hours, slow to get into game (maybe from lack of players?) but I can't complain I guess. :)

They're doing server maintenance. I'm betting the launcher, which searches for patches and other updates, is lost without the regular server that runs the website, including the forums.

Damn, I was getting an error when trying to open the game through the launcher so I thought it was a problem with my game so I uninstalled it, now I have to re-download it and install it again.

When I'm using the flak type gun on my tank instead of the canon is there anyway to make it not jump so much when firing, I mean will giving my gunner better training improve it, or is that just the way it fires.

Yeah almost there with my research today towards the 107...should have skipped the 122 but it does open up some pathways through the medium tanks that try to give the KV a burnt arse.
