I want to run a revision on my design, changes it a bit but follows the same idea. Will post when I get that done.

Sorry, I'm slow these days...

different backgrounds to compare against (because greys are tricky)

How it looks small, compared to existing patches:

I tried to keep the shapes very simple, but they can be dumbed down even more. I re-used the deck color to emphasize explosions inside the splashes...

Overall I took the same idea but made it one ship manuvering hard, and the wake of the ship as it splashes left then right radically forms the yin-yang division down the center... It's a looser demarcation now, but I think it works. Individual "lines" of white thread would be the white caps on the waves showing the violence of the manuvers.

That looks good Krusty.

Could I suggest that the perimeter text all be readable from the same direction.

Well, I was trying to go for the opposites, positioned left and right. For the sake of making a patch I see what you're thinking of and will whip something up. That would probably be better than the asymmetrical one.

Following the pattern of my previous post, 2 diff backgrounds, and then a small one next to previous patches:

OK, folks -- time for voting so that we can move on to patch production.

Go with A:

or B:

(The resolution of planes in B design won't be as good on the patch as in the graphic.)
