Great, the pot's being stirred while you're out gallivanting.   So far there is no burnt chili on the bottom of the pot.   :airplane:

Oh thank cod. I always ended up with that burned little chicken finger sized strip of bottom chili. God to know it wont happen this time.
On a side note,I planted a small herb garden this year and the Jalapinos are going ape dooky. Cut some up for a cheeze dip and couldnt get that damned oil off my fingers for anything. A cook should remember to wear the plastic gloves lol.

It is really quite simple.  You want to improve the quality of game play you are going to have to accept the fact that the maps need to be small maps and the total number of people in any arena really should not exceed more than 40 per side (given the three side set up of AH) or 120 peeps tops.  You get 250-350 people on a giant map and most of the fighting will be in two or three spots and will be way too many players for any sort of quality.  the fighting gets desperate and frantic and people get rude and frustrated.  This results in crap game play.

Hmmmm, sounds like HTC's reason for the LW arena split and dynamic caps.   :aok

...and the reason I generally stay out of LW altogether.

Isn't 'crap game play' kind of subjective?  'Desperate and frantic' can be a lot of fun.

Now I will grant the point, 1v1 is fun.  A few on a few, say 5v5 or so is fun.  However, I am also quite fond of being in those big, disorganized furballs.  It's more random than the small engagements, which adds to the fun trying not to get into a position to get gangbanged and if so, fighting your way out.  I like the fact that you can only plan so far into the engagement as compared to a 1v1 or a small group engagement.

It's nothing to do with score mongering, it's just the kind of fight I like.  YMMV, just saying it seems quite a few people seem to like horde on horde action.  What I hate is when I up toward a giant swarm of enemy dots, and by the time I get there, it's all green icons.  That's probably the single most frustrating thing in the game for me.

In a nut shell, the more people there are in an arena the less you know about who your fighting for the most part. When ya know who your up against,it makes it a whole nuther subject. You tend to show more fairness to those you know,as you know how they are going to fight you.

I don't worry about fair in any form. Maybe that's why I don't worry about what others snobbishly view as dweeb behavior. I know at any point in time there is going to be some truly stupid argument on 200 culminating in "let's go DA", and that dweeb behavior is to be expected between 6 p.m. til 9 p.m. when the kids are kicked off the computers.

Anyone who really wants fair is flying AvA or making up funny rules for 1v1 in the DA.

know why i stay outta lw?

i ventured in there a couple of weeks ago. saw a big battle going on, so i launched out of a9, climbed to 10k, figuring i'd be slightly high, or co-alt. i spotted multiple cons that i guessed were about 17k. climbed to that alt, they were still way over me. 22k, i finally got co-alt to them. only one was willing to fight....a p47. we merged, the fight lasted for a minute or so, and i finally got a good shot at his wing root.....fight over.
by this time we were back down to 10k. i level for speed, look around, and see a corsair a few k above me, and closing. i ditch my tanks, and turn into him. he climbs back up, and did nothing else. never came closer than 2.5k.
i headed up to v10 where the fight was raging, and found some low cons......and although outnumbered, had a niki warp somethign fierce......then got ho'd. i tried to dodge, but didn't make it, and he took my tail off.

good enough reasons to avoid lw.

That's the distinction that causes so much strife on the forums and in game.  There are those who expect/desire fairness and soforth, and those who don't, wanting more chaos and more of an 'if I can, I will' approach.  I think that's a pretty clear delineation.  It'd be nice if Orange could be for one type and Blue the other.  Sadly, that's just not possible to enforce.

I know myself, when someone grumbles on 200 about someone breaking up a 1v1 the question that always rises in my mind is why are they playing an open multiplayer game if they desire 2 player gameplay?

just so i'm not misinterpreted.......i wasn't upset that that corsair was up above me. i wanted to fight him,,,,,,,otherwise i'd have dove for the deck. it actually pissed me off that he was afraid of a 1-1 with a lower and slower p-38.

Perhaps he was debating the outcome of a good old head on shot

by pointing his nose away from me? when i had just finished a fight, and was somewhat slow?

nah.....he was setting up to pick, and seeing that he lost that opportunity, chose to protect however many kills he had.

while we are at it: another reason I avoid LW like the plague is because of the heavy armament on all the late war rides.  There really isn't much you can do past the first error.  In MW and especially EW and WW1 you can recover from an error and still prevail.  you can also recover from an error having the upper hand and then lose it again...and still reverse and prevail, sometimes.  In LW you make your first error and are bracketed with 15-25 rounds of high velocity 20mm hispanos and the sortie is over.  This is the sort of thing that generates so many of the desperation shots at the very onset of the fight.  People enter the fight already desperate and take the most drastic measures immediately, like the face shot.  This is the sort of pure desperation bred by the uber rides and high lethality of LW.   Throw in the massive overpopulation of these LW arenas and there is your fun killing poison.

But Yeager, Grumpy was complaining that there was no one to fight in the MW and the one fight they had was squashed by a bomtard.
