CAP1- Sorry if I came across like that I didn't mean it that way.  I would've been perturbed too.  I was just commenting on the people who are in the middle of a furball or near an enemy field getting uptight when another bandit comes along and attacks them, or they expect everyone to just leave 'their' con alone in the middle of the furball.  That part of my post wasn't directed at your comment.

Wiley.

dude.....you've got nothing to apologize for.

as for furballing......i don't get pissed if someone "steals" my kill. in fact, my gunnery sucks so badly, that i expect it. i simply distract the red guys, and the green guys come in and pop em.  :rofl :rofl

but i do see your point.

generally, when i try to do a 1-1, i either follow the con to a place away from others, or try to get him to follow me....

If a number of players want to enjoy furballing from close bases and their carrier is sunk why not go to the DA and continue the fight there as long as you're just flying for fun?

That is easy... F3 view is available, perk rides are the norm, and they actually allow squads to fly- err gang bang in there.

If those three things were changed, it would be furball utopia.

My only complaint is with the players. It seems lately that most everyone I've ran into will run away if they don't have at least one friendly to help them.  I'll find a guy out by himself and engage and he'll run straight for help.
They other half of the guys don't even attempt to merge....just come in guns blazing. If and when I decide to put my flight stick in the closet, it'll be because of the players. I logged on this morning, upped a 38 and was engaged by a 51, spixteen, 190, and another 38. I had 2 in front and 2 behind me. Every single time I turned to get the cons off my six I was having to avoid the ho shoots from the other two.
I guess it's the protect your squaddie mentality...i don't know. Flying alone these days is brutal.

Blooz summed it up nicely...

From my perspective your comment shows just how much the game has changed and how your attitude contributes to it.

Basically your capping an enemy field with your carrier ack and have a 2-1+ advantage so all is good? Reads as we had a good thing going and were to buzy semi vulching the uppers to protect our carrier. Some guy in a set of buffs saw what was going on and upped to take out the CV capping the field. I didn't want to give up my chance for some easy kills and the other guys wouldn't do there job of clearing my 6 and/or protecting the carrier so the guy sunk the CV and now I may actually have to earn my kills so I'm pissed the other guys let this buff driver piss in my cheerios...

actually no you either didnt understand what i wrote or i didnt explain it correctly.  we had the carrier far enough off shore so we could all fight out of carrier and field ack.  We didnt even deack the town just having fun furballing without having to fly 2 sectors between deaths.

So Grumpy likes the furball and that's his idea of fun. Then someone who was getting owned in the dogfights sinks Grumpy's funboat, which was probably fun to the boat sinker. Now Grumpy isn't having any fun.

No offense Grumpy, but that sounds like a personal problem brought on by a lack of proper perspective. Inflexibility, failure to look beyond the horizon, inability to see beyond ones private walls, assigning responsibility of ones happiness to others...that's where all the "this isn't fun anymore" attitudes and subsequent whines originate.

Sometimes I wonder how many "old timers" around here are still wearing their polyester leisure suits, cowboy boots and mullets as stuck in the past as some appear to be.

wasnt really meant to be a whine, complaint or anything more then me just venting my frustration from the night.  Im more then old enough to know the entire dynamic of the game and how it works.  I know not every shares everyones  sense of fun.  Thats the hard part of posting on here and why i never really did over the years, to many people read to far into it or just like to poke fun.

ya should've turned the carrier.

that being said, it's kinda harder to find a good fight in mw than it was a year ago....but when ya do, it is welllll worth it.

And thats why i was bummed that our good fight was ended by some guy either tired of getting killed or just being a dooosh....   :salute

Nope.No reason other than to pad the score. But the little score ho's in here dont see it that way. I pretty much only fly the FSO's now so all that MA issues are not in the wash. Its gotten to the point in MA that there are more face shots than the entire pron industry.

maybe i should check into the FSO, dont really know much about it.

:aok  We have had our share of fun fights, and I agree with you 100000% about it being the players and not the game.  I have a feeling most of the guys on the forum assume when the statement "the game has changed and not for the better" that the actual game itself is whats being slammed.  From what ive read thats not the case at all, the game itself has changed for the better, its the players IMHO that have changed over the years.

Anyone who really wants fair is... making up funny rules for 1v1 in the DA.

So you're saying a controlled merge in the DA to create a fair fight that starts on equal footing are "funny rules"?  Join the next dueling ladder.  Or are you one who always needs an advantage?
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

I don't worry about fair in any form.   Anyone who really wants fair is flying AvA or making up funny rules for 1v1 in the DA.

Man I wish I was good at this game.    :cry

Spot on Uptown. Typical scenerio I see every day here: Merge with con and 99.9999% chance if it is co-alt, he just goes nose down and runs for help. They gather 2 or 3 guys and suddenly find thier bravery. Flying alone most of these days, I have come to accept this and tried to counter it best I could as well as most merges with anyone will almost always result in the other guy spraying at 1k to your face.
Whats been erking me is that 2 or 3 of these engagments will sometimes result in me saying "F it, Im HOing everything that moves". Only contributing to the problem. Biggest change Ive seen through the years is that there are alot more people taking this game alot more seriously. More each day are concerned about score/rank, amount of real estate they own on the map or plan old tryin to pizz off the other guy.

Yesterday am something that used to happen frequently occur ed. Myself and another knit fought two bish one v one for around a half hour.  Other players in the area politely flew past giving us our space.  After being hod and ganged for months... I agree there are too many win at all costs guys... it was awesome to have some good technical fights.  I prefer to fly in the early am because many of the European pilots are on and many of them still display some style.  With supersquads and entire countries collaborating sometimes you have little choice.  Saturday am was a great example. The bulk of the bish were rolling bases. If you wanted a fight you had to fly into the cloud of red.  Anywhere else the was nothing going on.

I agree grumpy.  I go back to AW and even since coming into AH I think the attitude has changed.

Big <S> to Tongs and Harp for the fun fights.

Is it a "Longaburger" basket?  mrs zetanine collects those...

Mine too, I have a $80 tissue box holder basket in my bathroom  :furious

I got to fly in an FSO a couple of weeks ago (after not participating in FSO for 6+mos), breathed new life into the game for me.
Try FSO or senarios sir  :aok
