kamikaze

Hows about a new plane ?
Yokosuka MXY7 ''Ohka''
Rocket powered,human flown.
Wonder if you could change settings so that when you crash it into something(you,of course would still die,it is after all a kamikaze) it would damage or destroy whatever it was you flew into.

Hey pinewood, this has been asked before, has been deemed lacking in respect to those who gave their lives so bravely in kamikaze attacks. I would not mind the idea, but I am respectfull that to Japanese players it would be an upsetting thing to witness. Just like the removal of swastikas from the game, kamikaze is probably never gunna happen.

And I don't know much, but I do know this. With a golden heart comes a rebel fist.

You know, that's really something to think about.
I'm former military and I"m definitely one of those guys whom does believe in having respect for fellow military members, friend or enemy, with some exceptions (could never respect members of the SS,especially those who ran the concentration camps.)I remember escape and evasion class, where we were briefed on how to behave as prisoners of war,and it really freaked me out at first to find out that as a prisoner, military courtesy was to be extended to ENEMY personell. For instance,if you were brought before the camps commandant, you definitely WOULD have to salute him. If I had been in a war( or maybe only peace time),I would be one of those guys you would see at say a reunion for former enemies.

Oh yes, well you will make friends fast here then. A lot of ex-military folk lurking. (not me I'm a slacker)
Welcome!  If you make it to online mode the whole game will double in fun. You may also find yourself on fire more often, but it is worth it.

Salute!

Flew on the Japanese side in the re-enactment of Pearl last year and although this is a game/sim if it does'nt make people stop and think once in a while you must be extremely thick skinned.

On a lighter note welcome to Aces High Pinewood :) <S>

Ohka would be interesting to have, but at the same time, you would need two people................  One to fly the bomber, and the other to commit suicide.

Not to mention the BETTY............   :aok

We already have A Betty in game.  Isn't one enough?

Maybe she could, it weighs less than she does.

Technically the swastika is illegal in Germany. Even in a simple video game it's against the law. This is an international game, available to anybody in the world with an internet connection. To keep it legal in Germany (and there are a number of Germans that fly this game!) these must be absent.

Kamikaze, while also being insensitive (as Batfink said) would also be horribly bad gameplay in my opinion. On the surface of it, who wants some suicide remtard pilot with no skill to spoil my gameplay fun by killing the last hangar, or by sinking my carrier? On the deeper level why would I want to do that from a first person point of view? Where does that get fun?

In general I think there's a major reason you don't see tons of flight games that include "kamikaze" mode... It don't work and it leaves a sour taste in your gut when you think about it.

I don't really think it would be insensitive, considering those pilots knew exactly what they were doing and exactly what the consequences would be.
