You drank the Kool-aid, didn't you.    :rofl

My favorite is the 190A-8 w/ the quad 20mm and convergence set to 450 yards.  Yes, the 110G-2 is nice but it is too easy to kill the buffs and it isnt all that fast nor does it climb well, especially w/ the 4 air to air rockets.   ;)  For HIIIIIGH alt buffs, say 28k or higher, nothing beats the P47N or M.  I seem to think the N is a wee bit better up that high due to the bigger wing, but I'm not P47 expert.

dont knock the kool' man haha, yes I get rid of the MG's to save weight and the ammo in the 3 20's is more then enough for me to use before going down in flames, with a broken radiator as well lol

Low to medium altitude bombers are Mossie food
QFT
"Low" can be as high as 20k, but over that the engines straggle for air. I think it is better than the 110 for this purpose due to the mosquito's superior speed, climb and very low E-bleed. Really helps setting up the attacks and re-positioning. The front view is superb for high deflection (long range) shots that the hispanos are capable of providing.

Tempest, followed by 190A8/Ta152 are perhaps the overall best. Speed is important for setting up a good and safe attack and while the firepower is lower than the 110, it is far more than just adequate.

thats the reason why me and my squaddie CAPped a CV one night and ended up killing 4 buffs each in...110G2s... :headscratch: 4 hispanos are nice but 4 20mms and 2 30mms are pretty juicy. add those mgs in and its a wonderbird. 2 on one pass through in a formation and follow up kills the third. or if winging, have one get two and the other get one, then the next formation you repeat but switch flyers for the two and the one. simple, efficient, and deadly.
And?

Never said it couldn't be done in Bf110s, simply that it is easier to do it in Mossies.  I've done nearly as well as both of you two did together in a single Mossie sortie.  Neither means anything though because we can't comment very much on the skill of the bomber pilots we fought.

I've found the P-38J (G and L too) to be rather effective in killing any bomber in this game.  It has the fire power to kill a bomber in a single pass without needing to use a lot of ammunition and if you set up your attack angle correctly you can even take out the entire formation in a single pass.

Honestly, which is the better bomber killer is purely subjective in most cases.  With the exception of a few fighters, the fighters in this game are all capable of easily dispatching bombers.  It really boils down to skill and how you attack the bombers.  Hell, I've shot down a Lancaster in a Stuka before.

This was awhile back ago but I actually had fun time shooting down a B17 in Stuka; Nevermind the fact it took ALL off my ammo   :joystick:

+1, particularly if you have time to climb and are prowling the skies for buffs.

The only situations where it really makes a difference are when you have to do a quick interception from the ground (you can't beat the 109K and maybe G14 in that category), or the bombers are flying at extremely high altitudes (30K+)

Can't say I've ever killed a buff with a Stuka but I did get two B-26's in a single pass one night in a Hurricane MkI.
I edit a lot of my posts.  Get used to it.

hurricane Mk Ia . just because.  hit the wing roots of B24's and it's burning.   B17 you aim for the tail.   Lancasters aim for the elevators (the lanc will then start to  pull up with out them)  . Ju88 aim for the engines . Bostons aim for the cockpit and PW is easy . B25's again tail/ elevator. B26 ......stay away , but if you have to outer wing to clip it  from tip to engine.     I've got a set of B24's a few times with hurricane Mk Ia with ammo to spare same with B17s , but lancs tend to soke up alot . you just have to get very very close (200 yrds or less)  . we could do with the IIb though

just an fyi.......the pulling up thing on the lancs......it's VERY easy to control with throttle management. i flew 3 sectors home, after killing the 110 that took mine off.  :aok

110 all the way.  I love the rockets.  If the buffs are much over 20k, then I just whine about not having a 410 for the little bit of higher alt performance.
