110 all the way.  I love the rockets.  If the buffs are much over 20k, then I just whine about not having a 410 for the little bit of higher alt performance.

If facing Allied Bombers:
Fw 190 A-8 with the Quad 20 option (Rockets depending)
Me 109 G-14 with the Tri 20 option
Me 110 G-2 with heavy gun pack (Rockets depending)

If facing Axis Bombers:
P-47 D-25
Spitfire Mk IX
Yak 9T

If facing any type against a CV:
F4U-1C (Only when flying CAP)
F6F-5
Seafire Mk II

High Altitude Bombers:
Ta 152 H-1
Me 109 K-4

MOST of the times, it's Allied bombers that are used. (for obvious reasons :lol)  If I have a little time, I will up the 190 or the 110, but if time is a little bit of an issue, it's the 109 that I will take.  I don't run into many Axis bombers myself (probably just unlucky), but if I know there are some coming, the D-25 is my 1st thought.  The Yak 9T can be a LOT of fun to intercept with but, the Spit 9 I will use if there isn't a lot of time.  When it comes to CV defense, I use the F6F or the Seafire.  Depends on mood. :lol  I use the 1C when I'm flying CAP (or trying to) over the CV, otherwise I don't up it with bombers inbound.  As for our HIGH altitude "friends", the 152 is usually my choice though I am prone to take the 109 on a whim. :lol

You don't always need big tatters or multiple cannons to kill buffs.

You don't have any kills against any bombers in a Brewster or a N1K2, in fact since you've started in Tour 128 you only have two kills in a Brewster and neither of them were bombers.  The only bomber you have credit for shooting down is a B-25C and you did that in a Ta152.

you might want to rethink what tactics you're using when trying to intercept bombers in a Brewster because your current tactic isn't working so well.

It's more of a personal preference actually.  I grew up on Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe and Aces Over Europe, hence my choices of planes for allied bombers.  Even though the 110 was not in either, oh the fun I had in those game.... :x  There were times I would let the little demo thing play out on SWOTL.  I did that once for 12 hours, since I bored outta my gore but didn't feel well enough to play.  Twice they got close to target but only ONCE did those B-17's make it to their target and drop.  All other times, they got wasted well before target.

There are times, I will up an A6M2 for bombers (providing they are low enough and/or I have enough time to get up to their alt), just for the challenge.  Very tricky to intercept in that thing considering how slow it is and the amount of 20mm it carries, not to mention it is made of paper. :lol  Can still be a lot of fun.  Hmmm....I haven't done that in a while, now that I think about it.  Just might do that next go. :aok

Chased a set of 20k B-24s once in a A6M2.  Kept barrel rolling on his 6 'til he shot all his rounds and then cruised straight in for the kills.
My best ever was 6 Lancs in a 109E-4.  I used every little bb round it had.  <pingpingpingpingpingpingpingping

Perhaps he has shade accounts that he is mixing up?

The 190's are excellent buff hunters for every altitude. You have the 190 A-5/A-8 and Dora for low to Med altitude, and the TA-152 for high alt bombers. I am also partial to the 163, although I never use it much. The occassional high bombing horde mission gives me the opprotunity. Only a few kills from it, though.   :)
