back in my day, we used these funny things.

one was called a telephone.
the other was called the us mail.

if we REALLY wanted to catch up, then it was time for a road trip.  :aok

Cool story gramps, but I like doing things the best way, and I'm not stupid enough to click "allow" for every application sent my way.  Malware is not a problem for me.

ROFLMAO!!!  :rofl  :lol  :rofl  :lol

I reluctantly made over $500 off that site last year...getting rid of malware infections on peoples computers.

Might be true but has nothing to do with facebook alone. Malware can come from anyone anywhere. But to leave an impression that it comes all from facebook is wrong.
Posting to facebook is no different than posting here. You can just as easily get malware etc. from opening links posted here from time to time. On facebook just like any other
site don't be stupid and open all the links etc.
You said you made over $500 getting rid of malware from peoples computers you didn't say it came from facebook so fail to see the connection.

Ok I do see where you said that site but still no different than any other site.

Same here. If I don't know you IRL then I click ignore. Never had any problems with malware or virus' from FB and most likely never will.

It's so easy to keep in contact with everyone you want to, and it is also easy to find people that you want to, or have lost contact with, i.e. don't have their phone number or email addy.  An incredibly effective and efficient tool for keeping in touch with people.

Haha I realized I was coming off a bit aggressive when I typed it but couldn't be bothered to rephrase myself.

Also I'm freaking the diddly out over here, ACT scores in one hour 16 minutes.

well, if i offended, and you thought i was calling you or anyone else stupid, then i do apologize.

there is maleware out there that'll find systems regardless of what site or protection you/we have. i know that, and you know that. the problem is that although you're not stupid, places like that are overpopulated with stupid people, and those that write maleware, viruses, etc., tend to know this. accordingly, places like that will be filled with this poop, just waiting for the unsuspecting user.

unfortunately, i would fall into the category of "stupid" as far as maleware and viruses are concerned, and thus would become a victim of it. hell....i got hit with that antivirus 2010 crap back in jan., on my work machine........

I never go online without:

1. adblock
2. noscript
3. betterprivacy
4. sandboxie
5. shadow defender

With those in my disposal, who needs performance-robbing antivirus software?
Even if i get a virus all I need to do is just restart my computer and the virus is gone :rock
