Isn't this a Metallica thread?

Crap or get off the pot.

Metallica is over. Gone, washed up. Cant hang with todays class of musicians. know your music or get off the pot. Youre nothing more than a listener. Your opinion doesnt matter

You're right, I am a listener.

And what I hear from you sucks.

Piss off.  Melvin

again i say, your opinion does not count. Remain a listener and know nothing about how music actually operates.

*Pulls up a lounge chair*
Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Tallica IMO, have really lost their edge since Newstead was booted. Seems of late they are trying really hard to appease to a certain crowd just for the $$$.

Although Justice being my fav album, the sound quality is just damn annoying (sounds like Lars is bangin on cardboard). I credit Bob Rock when he came to the scene with the black album which made a world of difference.

I saw them live during the Puppets tour(Awsome), saw them again on the Justice and black tours (Awsomer!!) then caught em again last year and sadly I left the show early.

Seems they trying to fit the bill as Ozzy and Aerosmith have been doing it for 40 years and still going. Thing is, Ozzy and Aerosmith can still do it. Hammette (which will always be an amazing lead guitarist) needs to do his own project while Hetfeild and Ulrich need to debloat their alcohol induced faces and look towards the scooter store for the near future.

Music i really like from a musician and producer stand point. Well written, nice polyrythms, great vocal range engineered and produced very well. IF you can get passed the way its compressed to crap for youtube.

This next song was also well written. Nice use of midi samples and a powerful driving bass line. Very simple but beautiful song. Im a big fan of his music.

Yeah Cliff was good and sorely missed with Metallica.  They lost it all I believe when he died tragically.

But could you imagine the sound if they would have hired my favorite bassist when he auditioned for them? (it wouldn't have worked I know)

Ya Metallica Died When Cliff Died in the bus Accident, The Nail in the Coffin was when Jason split the Band due to James and Lars not allowing him to Voice his opinion on new music and bass Riff's Hate to say it but Metallica Sold out when they went mainstream and Cut their hair off thats when the music also went to poo.. Ashame to Cause their Earlier Music Really Rocked and my band and I covered alot of  the Earlier tunes almost 20 yrs ago, it was to the point I played Cliff's Bass Solo 3 counts higher then when he played it to speed it up a little fingers were killing me by the end but man it sounded good.

Long Live Cliff!!!!

Oh man do I love my Claypool!  Seen that guy every time he came around here, going back to the Frizzle Fry  days when I first became aware of them.  Got all the albums at one point or another too.  Dude is just amazing and writes awesome catchy songs.  They did a sweet cover of the Thing That Should Not Be a few years back when I saw them too, which is cool because it's one of my favorite Metallica songs covered by one of my favorite bands.  It never would have worked out between them at all though, he's too different from everyone else musically and probably personality wise.  I saw a clip once where he met Marilyn Manson and totally freaked him out by being really friendly and goofy.  Great stuff.

That's pretty much what Ive been getting at since the beginning. Unfortunately comprehension isn't some folks strong points.

I guess I'll go re-stock my music collection with a bunch of cookie-cutter, neo-putz, bubblegum fantastic rock.

Only then might I evolve above squeeker status.

I chalk that up to aging.  It's like saying a pro athlete, like Favre, is a has been.  He still loves to play the game and all the power to him.
