There will be a live, limited release album on Black Friday.(I believe they said Black friday). To be sold in Indie stores only. No Walmarts, Targets, etc.
Just a FYI if anyone is interested.

Great, another album to listen to one of my favorite bands deteriorate a little more.

Hetfield: " We love you guys so much! You complete us and make us feel good about our feelings!"

Ulrich: "Playing in front of our fans is such wonderful therapy."

Hammett: (in girly voice) "Here's your tennis racket back Lars, the handle smells like poo."

Trujillo: "What am I doing with these girls?"

Nope, I'll have to pass on the latest offering from these blathering d-bags.

Forgot who said this while trying to take a base, but the quote goes like this. "I cant help you with ack, Im not in attack mode" This is with only 2 ack up in the town while troops were there, waiting. The rest of the town was down.

Man I loved them right through And Justice For All.  The Black Album to my mind was right where they went to crap.  It was amazing to me how much they changed from one album to the next.  Master of Puppets is still one of my all time favorite metal albums, The Thing That Should Not Be is just fantastic.  I'll have to pass on anything new yet again, everything I've heard of theirs for years has just been steadily worse. I think I'll go listen to some of their old stuff now.

Wtf is "YEA-YA"? It seems in almost all of their songs now. I like Early-Black Album Metallica, although there are a "few" ok ones on the newest stuff...

For Whom the Bell Tolls is still my all time favourite, especially the live version with Cliff Burton shredding on the bass.  :devil

I have to agree with Madda, Justice for All was a masterpiece of metal composition. Everything after is bubblegum.

in comparison to their earlier stuff, yes. The Black Album was their first with songs all written to a formula.

Come on man, even you should be astute enough to understand they had "sold out" by the making of this more "mainstream marketed" record.    To say "no" to the fact that Metallica themselves have admitted, says a lot about their fan base.

I was 10 years old when Kill em All was released and loved it as much then, as I do now.   Ride the Lightning was great, but "Orion" on MoP is their Opus.    Here is a song that is damn near perfect in song, that lyrics aren't even needed.    "One", "Blackened" and ...And Justice were overplayed and started the "mainstream breakout" altogether.

Today, they are a small shell of their former selves.   Suing Napster, so they could use the money for more blow (before their personal dealings as addicts).   Lars, trying to come across as one of the most intellectual humans ever to grace the Earth.   Kirk Hammett and Trujillo are excellent musicians and hopefully get their share of proper input in the coming albums.

I choose to remember pre ...And Justice and ignore all of their "hype" from new releases.   Although, Trujillo is their best Bassist since Burton.   Newstead was not as "free-form" as I thought he could have been.
