Racial, ethnic, etc. They also have one of the safest airlines in the world.
Profiling is such a taboo in the U.S. Unless a child goes missing, or a serial killer is on the loose. Then suddenly profiling turns into a useful tool.
But for regular law enforcement and security, it's looked down upon.
Ah well, we'll reap what we sew.
profiling is taboo here in the us, because certain groups have campaigned against it. these groups "represent" some of the groups that are smeared due to the actions of their "types"
as i said, it doesn't have to be, and shouldn't be racial. profiling can be done a number of ways.
appearance, and actions, or how you carry yourself are two very useful ones.
no one that is going to do something is going to walk in perfectly normal. they're going to try to "blend", and in doing so, they'll make themselves stick out. they'll be somewhat "jittery" if that's the right word.
police here in nj used to profile partly based on your car(the state troopers out on the turnpike especially). it was pretty certain that if you were driving a mercedes, lexus, bmw, etc. with limo tint, and all "pimped" out, and had out of state tags(especially florida), that you were gonna get stopped.
and know what? 90% of those that they stopped were drug runners.
profiling works. if they used that, all of this scanner/take off your smelly shoes/pat me down while i fart in your face crap would be unnecessary.
