Losing customers due to unhealthy community due to too large of arena doesn't get fixed by re-opening the game to the large numbers that originally cause the unhealthy community.

Quite the opposite for the offpeak arena bringing together the entire community to work together to either 1) take a base   2)defend a base  3)or up a fighter sweep.     For once in a very long long time, this 1 arena concept allowed the rooks to get their 'organization' factor back to join any mission and be successful.

Something that had been sorely absent in the  'old method'  of two late war arenas.

It reduced frustration,  it focused the effort.    It's nothing short of a miracle.

Now... If HTC can only fix the peak hour  max cap that splits apart my squad and other's who prefer not to fly  (like myself)  until cap numbers come up to rejoin their squadmates.
To fly or not to fly, that is the question

You really didn't ever read the arena message did you?

The off peak arena opens as the prime time arenas close, and vice versa.

Huh? Are you daft? Did you really read what i wrote?  :huh  I said INSTEAD OF opening another new arena, leave the Orange open and close the Blue. The Orange can be the 1 "off peak" arena plus the maps can continue through the times. You won't kick so many out of an arena. Most used to go to Orange anyway at midnight when it shot up to 400 limit. So what's the friggin' difference? This way at least one arena won't have it's bases frozen and everyone kicked off which is about the dumbest idea I've ever seen.

Here's an Idea, Leave both arenas alone and uncap them and let the players play where they want :aok

Never heard one complaint when they were like this when WW1 arena first came out.

Of course the simple solution will never happen, all of this is so stupid and is gonna piss people off and make them just quit.

What if I want to play in blue except that there is no one in there because everyone is in orange?  What am I supposed to do?

whats the difference indeed! I'm pretty sure the idea is to keep everything as balanced as possible. If orange is the off hours arena, then it is exposed to more action than blue. therefore, when the blue arena comes back up, the map in orange has been "worked" more than the blue map has.

I havent played since this. If I was a base taker Id be ok with it. Something probably had to be done with the B29 coming.

agreed (see my sig). strange thing to me is that the experiment/accident seemed to work fine, I never understood why the dynamic caps were reintroduced :headscratch:

The dynamic caps were never eliminated. There was no plan to eliminate them.

During US prime time you're going to have the population split between two arenas for social reasons.

whether planned or accidental, the dynamic caps were removed for a period of ?4-6 weeks after the introduction of the WWI arena.

Not if the orange was a giant map and the blue was a small one.  That would offset that "worked more" disparity.

I don't like it though because it would make orange seem more like the "main arena" and blue just some side arena that you get stuck in from time to time.  Both arena's should feel as equals.

Yes the caps were turned off then, but maybe they saw the same crap start springing back up that made them decide to use the dynamic caps.

I know a single arena sucks, see it ever time Tuesday comes around. Leaving 2 arenas uncapped will make a single arena of crap, and an empty arena because everyone MUST play with the numbers.

That is why the dynamic caps will be around as long as we have 2 LW arenas.

yeah maybe they did see more of ... whatever. much more likely they didnt see more ... whatever ... because no one else I talked to about it noticed an increase. thats why many of us found it so strange that the caps were reintroduced.

with current numbers 2 uncapped arenas would result in one arena with 70-90% of the players and a second with 10-30%. If you want to fly in an arena with 400 players you could, if you prefer to fly in one with 100 players you could. what is the problem with that? :headscratch:
