From the link I posted with the chronological events of the Korean air war.
Hmm...
According to the Gordon L. Rottman's
Korean War order of battle, Korean Peoples Air Force's OOB in the beginning of the war consisted of:
1st Assault Aviation Regiment 93x Il-10
1st Fighter Aviation Regiment 79x Yak-9P
1st Combined Aviation Regiment 40-50 trainers, transport, liason etc.
People's Air force did have other combat aircraft but it is my understanding that the two former units primarily engaged in combat operations during the first couple months (when talking about prop planes).
Anyway, communist day time prop-job operations became practically non-existant in just couple of months into the war. After that, the communist side operations were practically day time Migs and night harrasment with lesser types with couple exceptions.
