Being a little hard on him aren't you?

Everything that makes the game harder does not always make it better. Getting back to base with a wounded aircraft is the hard part. Emersion is a great part of making the game fun. Realistic challenges are better than silly ones. Returning to base and landing on the field with a damaged plane, but missing the gray patch of ground by two feet seems more silly than realistic. I think that's why people question it.

You really don;t think there could be an improved version that creates better emerssion and maintains the challenge of a 'successful' landing. Come on, you're the expert/veteran/ guy. You can do better than that.  :aok

Yeah, landing a B-26 with no elevators just wouldn't be as hot.

Did I mention I once landed a B-26 with no elevators?  :airplane:
I once landed a 262 with no tips on either wing. Flying with rudder and flaps only. And landed it. Now thats hard.

Pilot:" good news, Sir, I landed on the runway."  CO:" good, now please move it onto the twiddlin' grass so others may land or T/O!" I could go for inside base on grass, but only with wheels down or itza d1t(h
The Kanonenvogel had 6 rounds per pod, this is not even close to being open for debate.

ahh I've done the same in 262.. interesting but not too hard, just alot of planning ahead of the approach.. recently I managed to bring an IL2 with no wingtips from town all the way to base onto a runway.. now that was tricky!.  :D

Vinkman, you're a smart guy and you know that in programming and in this case in particular, you have to define the boundaries/parameters in which counts as a successful landing.  The boundaries must be defined, regardless of whether that boundary is the edge of the concrete, the edge of the base perimeter or whatever, the boundary must be formed.  So regardless of what the defined boundary is, there are two sides to that boundary, unsuccessful landing and successful landing.

What better boundary would you prefer there to be instead of the edge of the concrete?  <--- Answer this question please.

Or would you prefer there to be a gray area where if you miss the hard boundary it says SYSTEM: Vinkman almost successfully landed 8 kills but he missed the boundary by 2 feet"

Now that would be great!

Not that you never do...because you do....offer definitive answers to correct the games few faults, but are you really at a loss with this one? simple answer might be 'within the perimeter of the field'. If it doesn't matter for score etc, than I say just just make it more 'realistic.'   :salute

Okay so the perimeter of the field...  Fair enough.  So what if you land 2 feet from the edge of the field?  You telling me that 2 measly feet and you don't get a land?  That doesn't seem very realistic at all.   :D
