<-----Killed a 262 in a F4F-4 Friday, (practising for the FSO coming up that evening), and yes I HO'd him.  He came to an area showing a good sized dar bar alone and then attacked a couple of my squaddies.  For that he must die.  That was the most lopsided eny kill I have had so far and I thouroughly enjoyed it.  Pretty sure I didn't get a salute afterward, didn't expect it either.

I was in a 262 attacking a set of Buffs just recently.  I took out his 2 AI when he really started to turn and burn that big fat B17.  I was lining up fo a 1:00 shot when he pulls really hard right to me.  Missed my shot trying to avoid him.  Set up the same shot again and jeebeezus he does it again.  I throw him a salute private and tell him he is scaring the crap outta me and are you really trying to ram me?  He comes back and says "Sorry, yes I am, the 262 is just a game killer for me.....".  So, that's pretty simple for me, I break off because I am not here to ruin the game for anyone, throw him another salute and tell him I am off, happy landings.  1 minute later I get the kill message that says his last B17 has gone down.  I ask him what happend and he says, "Obviously you are a gentelman and a good sport so I crashed to give you the kill because you earned it".

What's the point?  The 262 is a game changer for alot of folks.  They see it as disruptive to good fights when maybe it is sometimes.  That's why I think so many are into the "kill it at all costs" mentality.  2nd point, It is amazing what happens if you show just a bit of sportsmanship and civility while flying and I believe that makes the game more fun.

BTW the "gentelman" in the B17 was Midway, a guy I see thrashed quite a bit now on 200 for alot of stuff, but I know better.   :salute

He said he followed a jet, who eventually crashed on landing...  What makes you think he's lying?

He never stated that he was involved in any way with your ordeal.

Nowotny was shot down and killed on 8 November 1944. I believe he was shot down be Lt. R. W. Stevens, 364 FG in a P-51. He was landing and one of his engines was out when he got jumped. The situation is remarkably similiar to what you described. Lt. Stevens indicated he caught up with a slow Me-262 that was about to land, shot at it and damaged it and pulled off when he believed he was about to enter the "Flak Alley". Subsequently, Nowotny's Me-262 rolled and he crashed. (This more or less happened within sight of Adolf Galland who was visiting Kommando Nowotny that day.)

Sounds strangely familiar .......  ahh but this is not real, just a game so don't behave like it's real, you might make it more authentic to war-like reality  :lol

Look, i wont ho (or wont kamikaze ramm on the runway) a 262 couse "i know ill die, but at least he loses all those perks muhaha" is just...  err i dont wanna be muted again. So i ask You sirs, dont ho. Not speaking about a 262, that was my bad i lost its oil and couldnt run to a further field. I ask You all, gentlemen, plz dont ho. Not with me, generally. Almost every time i try to break off from a head on situation, my opponent is trying to ramm me. I dont think this behaviour is good for the gameplay.

Btw, TY strip, he was way outta range, but he was till following me. I could almost stop on the runway... But its ok, keep coming, keep ramming on runway, it really moves this game forward. Dont you think? And i think i have the rights to complain, couse i NEVER do theese actions. lol Maybe its my bad im not a twit, but still.
I feel your pain but everyone knows 262's are fair game, any way,, any how.

Better known as "Rat Catching"  It's why they had the red and white striped D9s around to protect the 262s trying to land.

who managed to kill my 262  :lol
All those HOs, then follow me like a puppy through 2 sectors after you managed to get my oil.
Especially salute LaSalle, who finally kamikaze vulched me on the runway. He couldnt survive that crush into me...
I LUV ya guys. Keep coming  :aok

I dont know why im muted... Maybe i really appreciate your skills  :lol

Oh Ghost Thread and my bad on not checking this sooner, but I was running a search under my game name looking for some stuff on FSO and stumbled across this gem.

Let's clear this up, I didn't vulch you on the runway or was anywhere near your landing. When you tried the typical 262 pick, I jinked and whacked your engine in my Brewster as you passed. Then you ran away to god knows where like most 262 drivers do when they are outclassed. About 5 minutes later after fighting on I got a kill message, so whatever I thought.

Then right after you have the audacity to pop up on my vox, cursing at me and carrying on like child with a temper tantrum. So I muted you.

I didn't even think anything else about it, until I read this thread.

Feel pretty stupid now huh?

You know, for over six weeks now this issue has really been burning in my mind.  Some nights I have trouble falling asleep, worrying that Debrody's nemesis never got his fair say.

Thanks for clearing this up, now I can relax.

 :ahand  :rofl

The 262 is almost invincible with good SA.  It dictates the terms of every pick -err bounce -err fight.  Aside from diving in a from well above the 262, Ho-ing is the only "fight" most can put up.  Given the chance, I would kamikaze a set of B-29s to get a 262 on the runway.  :devil
