The SPR Tiger is a T-34 chassis. It might not be the actual Kelly Heroes vehicle though, I thought maybe at the end of the film they stored them somewhere but maybe not <shrug>.

...and yes, the Kellys Heroes Tiger I was absolutely a T-34 conversion. They filmed the movie in Yugosalvia (when they used Russian AFVs) and they would have had easy access to old T-34s.

Look closely at the bogies and track.

The Tiger in SPR was based on a T-55. Notice the spacing between the 1st and 2cd road wheels. On the T-34 this spacing was between the 2cd and 3rd road wheels.

Well, on the examples I showed the spacing on both AFVs is between the 2nd and 3rd bogie from the front ala the T-34.

I grew up loving that movie.  Telly Savalas was great.  Don Rickles was great.  Lotsa funny lines.

I watch it now, especially the cowboy style showdown at the end, and it seems like something Quentin Tarentino would've liked.

In fact, QT used the part of the soundtrack from Kelly's Heroes in Inglourious Bastards.

Yep, that little bit of the soundtrack is actually called "Tiger Tank". Lalo Schifrin is one seriously talented guy. And he's been cranking out memorable music for what seems like forever.   :aok

one of the tigers from SPR is mocked on T-34 chassis, a guy i know mine owns one.
You open the "tigers" hatches which are all fabbed Alluminum and underneath the is the slopped armor from a T-34. lol  :x

For anyone in the Chicagoland/midwest area it sometimes appears at local WW2 reenactments, if ya want to check it out in person.

Kelly's Heros is one of my favorite movies, it's nice seeing all the real armor and stuff.

Just watched Patton and Kelly's Heroes the other day.

Patton's story is pretty cool, using him as a diversion was pretty clever.

Anyone got any recommendations?  I'm sick and laying low, so I've been watching a lot of movies! :)
