I've always loved "A Midnight Clear," book and movie.  Not a blow 'em up type movie but good none the less.

that was a good movie.

Another classic is "A walk in the Sun", one of the first war movies (it was made when the war in it's finishing stages) that explored the psychological impact and horrors of war.

Found it...didn't like it much. Mostly swearing and low budget "feeling". "Not my Bag Baby"  :x
