Really?  That's an odd one.  But I'll try anything at this point.

Something about the OS having trouble naming the new film - same problem with too many screenshots and the game freezing momentarily when you take one.
You are in a maze of twisty little passages, all alike.

After the last update came out,  I started having game freeze/crashing when trying to log online (clicking the ok button).   The game stops responding, the music goes into a loop, and then the crash sign comes up.    I had previously been able to overcome it by rebooting my system a few times.

Unfortunately this is becoming a headache.

Tonight I could not fly the FSO because the game freezes after trying to submit my username/password to log online.

Help is appreciated   (P.S. I've had no problems in the past 1.5 years,  and no system changes)

It sounds like you have a lack of resources issue. The reboot may have been clearing out your ram enough to get you by. When was the last time you defragged your computer? Clearing out your HD with a defrag may have things run smoother and get past those memory issues.

Been flying for 1.5 years without problems,  unless the newest update hogs up more resources?  I"ll do a defrag just in case,   after that I suppose will fully uninstall AH  and  reinstall it.

All fixed...    The uninstall of AH,  then defrag,  then full reinstall from website did the trick.

Thanks for the help

All operating systems have a limitation on how many files can be in any given folder.  Once the limit is met, the operating system will hang when trying to create a new file in that folder.  It will crash any application trying to do so.

Well, I moved all of the films out of the films folder, there were just over 200 films.

I went a couple of days with no crash.  Was getting hopeful.  Until today.

Two crashes today.  First was after dropping one of the BIG bombs from a Stuka on a town.  I never heard the bomb explode, at the moment that I beleive the explosion should have been heard, crash to desktop.  Second crash was a little later in the day, I can't assign any particular happening to the time of the crash.

Are you using any custom sounds?

I don't think so.  What is the best way to be sure?

If the "sounds" folder is empty of any sounds, then you are not using custom sounds.

Are you running any type of anti-xxxx software, while the game is running?  The crash when a bomb drop happens could also be resource issues within the computer.

Apparently I did have custom sounds installed, although I don't remember installing them so they must have been there for quite some time.  I have pulled them all and will hope that that solves the problem.  Not running any anti-stuff software on this computer.
