you don't think there could've been a screw up in their computer system? which is what this sounds like?
he says he has proof that the money was transfered from one account to another. now if they stopped the internet payment system, but the auto-transfers continued.......then as far as he knew, he was paying for his car. he was looking in the accounts, saw the money move, and figured he was good.
If this is the case, he will make some cash when all this is over. Especially if he ends up losing his job or income from it. I am amazed however at how hard people will try to believe a story. Look at what you wrote for a second:
"they stopped the internet payment system". Huh? What internet payment system? Are we talking scheduled electronic payments between two banks that guarantee they get their money on time and at very low cost to them? Now, does it make any sense to you that a bank would stop that? Most their customers pay like that. So, lets say the bank is stupid and stopped that. How on earth were able to to pull the money then? Did they stop it or not?

"now if they stopped the internet payment system, but the auto-transfers continued" Ummm, ok, so they stopped it, but they continued

.
You see why I don;t buy it?
But hey, if it did happen, he is gong to be able to buy a more expensive car very soon.

The killer is the bank locking his account for trying to deposit money in it
