People like being a rebel.  If you never used facebook, and don't see any reason to join facebook, why even join this discussion?  Just so people know you don't use facebook?

It's an anti-culture, and I take part in it in that I will never own a north face jacket, I'll never wear plaid shorts, and I don't say "bro".  (Greek culture on my campus).
LOOK EVERYBODY!  I GOT MY NAME IN LIGHTS!

Folks, play nice.

I did a quick search by poster (Shuffler) and keyword (Facebook) and found at least nine threads where he felt the need to do a drive-by posting dismissing the site or expressing disdain.  I don't want to assume what that means, so I'll just let everybody draw their own conclusions.

...... because it is as you say a... "discussion".

No matter what you post, there are those that do not agree, somewhat agree, or completely agree. All threads on this BBS are open for discussion amongst the users as rules permit.

So you assume the hate. That is something I never said.

You should never assume.

idk Shuffler, I've seen quite a bit of random facebook jabs from you in the past year.  If not "hate", then what is the appopriate adjective that is a better measurement of your negative emotions towards it?

I searched for "Shuffler Headhunter" (I assume that's his real name) but I came up empty handed.   :(

Well if shuffler is not a old man then he is some hipster. The worst kind of sheeple. The sheeple who don't know they are sheeple and talk down to the other sheeple. They do this as they drink their starbucks and listen to their ipods.

Hey guys,

I only recently discovered the HiTech - Aces High Facebook page. I don't know how long it has been up (I think a month), but make sure to support it by visiting and clicking the "like" button! Support your virtual passion!  :)

^-- What Shuffler said. Facebook is a time waster. It has led to many bad online habits and trends.

I think the SouthPark episode summed it up quite well.

Honestly, this is only true if haing access to java-based apps/games online hasn't been available to a user before.  Most of us who have had access to that stuff for 10+ years before the rise of FB haven't developed any bad habits we didn't already have or weren't aware of.  Most of us know that you don't get distracted and play on your work computer, or at least don't play when you're trying or have to do something else on the computer, lol.  Also facinating to me, with the rise of facebook/twitter users coincides a rise in adult self-diagnosed ADD disorders in the nation.  Internet noobs.  :D
