The older I get, the more I'd rather listen to Willie Dixon, Leadbelly and the influential artists "that get ignored".
This actually makes sense to me... chasing down the blues roots is a logical path. Screamin' Jay, Albert Collins, Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, even people like Mingus... etc. Hell, most people don't know who Kansas Joe McCoy is - but they've heard at least one of his songs. Many don't realize that Shine on You Crazy Diamond is a blues song (albeit a very slickly produced, very good one - and I'm no music student so correct me if it isn't technically the blues - it sure sounds like it).
