Man robs bank to get medical care.

Apparently this guy was having a run of bad luck AND bad health.

No insurance, no one to help him.

So he robs a bank of $1.00 to get jailed and consequently get the medical help he needed so badly.

A crazy world.

dang it you tard, my name is semp, I am not sure why everybody keep calling me guncrasher  :noid.

regarding the news, it's really sad that he has to resort to it.  been there myself, unemployed, no money and no insurance.  I thought about it, so I could get the care I needed.  dont really condone it, but when you have no choice...

Another stupid person (protected species) wanting us to support him.

Failure to plan on his part is not my problem.

Unfortunately yes, it probably will get locked. The inability to have a calm and articulate discussion here is appalling.

if i lose health insurance im done... arthritis in my knee... for 52 shots (one shot a week) its almost 10 grand a year. do the math per shot so i can function.... 1 buck is nothing compared to some.

desperate times call for desperate measures though.

I usually concur with most of your comments. Not this time.

Although I most certainly would never want to see you in the position that this guy is in,just imagine if it happened to you through no fault of your own.

It "seems" like this guy worked hard all his life and through no fault of his own, he finds himself needing help after many years of contributing to society.


While I think he took things to the extreme, extreme times call for extreme measures.

What would you do??

I'd do the same thing if the only other option was death. If somebody had a problem with it I'd tell them to reject care to all the real criminals in our prisons before trying to play the 'leech on society' card with me.

If I was in charge, I would only allow people that contributed to the system to be able to take anything from the system.

Take unemployment for example, if I had my way, you couldn't collect unless you worked for 8 years (a ratio of 8:1). So, if you were a machinist for 40 years and suddenly you were unemployed, you could collect for 5 years- no questions asked. If you were young enough, you could retrain/return to school for a new career while not having to work or if you were old enough you could retire early.
