Signing up for a dueling bracket or KoTH to find a fight is kind of like making a formal appointment with the wife to have sex.  Sure, the end result can be fun, but it is just not the same as a bit of spontaneity.

Funny analogy but not quite the same thing.  I'd relate it more to signing up for a local golf tournament after hitting a few balls on the range and playing with your friends.

I am also not talking exclusively about members of the "fighting club".  There are many advocates of the fight on the boards that are no shows to every fighting event as well.

As for today, we are just old, unreliable and not competitive enough. We still fight in less formal venues though  :old:

I don't know.  I can only speak for myself, but I always felt that the "can't find a fight" frustration is that, sometimes, it can feel like the ONLY way to find one is to sign up for one ahead of time (be that 5 minutes ahead of time or 5 days).

I mean, the people who have been harping on for years about the lack of fights are certainly also the same people who are part of a network of regular dueling partners.  None of us has to go a single night without having a good fight.  The problem is the regularity that one has to leave the MA to have one.

So respectfully I'm not sure it means much that "they" aren't regulars in these competitions.  It's not necessarily what they're looking for when they complain about a lack of fights.

Well I was not referring to you anyways!  :aok
Besides, didn't you participate in a couple BE Tournaments?

If you ever get a free 15 minutes, look back at some of the old brackets and see which names are missing from them.  A lot of those names are some of the biggest "fight" guys here on the BBS.  Very interesting stuff to say the least.

Is it too late to organise pay per view for Krup Vs Spek -  The Rematch?

I'll be prepared to take 60 - 40 Royalties if Sunbat's lawyers can arrange the contract for free.
