Just to chime in on something that was mentioned earlier- Rehab is critical.  I've known guys who had similar injuries, one did his rehab, the other didn't.  The difference is night and day.  IMO the rehab is 80% of the healing process.  By the fact you went back to work with a recently reattached finger, I can take a moderately educated guess how 'easy' you'll take it, but try to follow the doctor's advice as much as you can, it'll pay big down the road.

Warning!

the mobo power connector on alot of HPs looks like an ATX power connection but it isnt - they have completely different pinouts despite using the same connector. this means that at best, it wont start up. at worst you'll fry the mobo and/or PSU.

before you plug it all together you need to download the service manual for the PC and make sure the power pinout is exactly the same as the PSU pinout (ATX standard.)

edit: since you cant type great atm, just tell me the exact model HP you've got (model# is best) and I'll check the pinout for you

I'll find out & shoot ya a PM.  Thanks.  I didn't know this.  I changed out the PS in my last PC (an HP) and had no problems.  Maybe I got lucky.  I do know I need to though if I'm going to run my Vid card or any other powered card.

Well, haven't quite made it back to the game yet.  This stupid bandage/splint on my trigger finger has been a real pain.  A few days ago I finally did manage to swap out the power supply & put in the video card for my new pc.  Not an easy task to hold those tiny screws and screw them in all with one hand.   Mission accomplished though, everything fires up just as it should.  So here I go, logging into the game now.  Who wants some first?
