Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.

Good idea. They might lose some business, but they'll win back customers they lost because of wailing brats and all that goes with it. I once walked out of a restaurant before taking a seat at the table because a woman was openly breast feeding her baby - letting it all hang out right there at her table. I've also seen a diaper change in progress in a restaurant, within a few feet of the nearest table. Then there are those people who go for a night out but don't have a baby sitter, so they turn up at a restaurant around 9pm with a baby in a carry cot, then get upset because people are talking in the restaurant and that might wake the baby. Kids running around, climbing on the furniture etc... It's just not acceptable.

Avoid LA, the wailing adults aren't any better.

Hmm I wonder what happens when the first ethnic minority 5-year old wants to get in.

Give him minimum wage and point him to the back kitchen sink like everyone else?  :D  :bolt:

It is state law in TX that a woman can breastfeed anywhere she likes.  Seems pretty sensible to me.  Some women are more private about that sort of thing than others, but it sure seems weird that something as natural and normal as feeding a baby has to be hidden away like there is something strange or horrible about it.  Baby needs some food, feed the baby.  Pretty normal sort of thing especially at a restaurant, I think.

Taking a leak or a dump is natural and normal. So according to your logic, there should be a WC right there in the restaurant so that diners can do either of these natural bodily functions in full view of the other diners. Thanks, but I think I'll dine somewhere else.

Not his logic at all.

You equate breast feeding a baby with feces and piss.  Shame on you.

No. Eagl states quite correctly that breast feeding a baby is normal and natural. I agree - but that does not mean I want to see it, just as I don't want to witness other bodily functions (urination, defecation), even though these are as normal and necessary as feeding babies.

Are you ashamed of the female body?

They have restrooms to relieve yourself.  You eat/feed in a restaurant.

He also states correctly that to see anything that would "offend" you, you would have to stare.

No, but I don't want to see breast feeding or diaper changing in a restaurant. That is my choice. If I DO happen to see activities such as this in progress, I would turn on my heel and leave.

So if a restaurant opens which bars children under 6, that's fine by me - I know I won't have to endure either of these activities.

It's not about what's natural/normal. It's about what people feel is fit and proper in the company of total strangers.

You keep equating it to feces and urine.

As always, if a point cannot be made people resort to ridicules extremes.  Changing a diaper in a restaurant is something that I have never witnessed.  I suggest you move to a different park if that is something you see a lot.

I have seen women breastfeeding in public (and I could probably count them with one hand).  I have also seen that even though it does not seem to bother the general population, there is always one guy or girl that for some reason get upset about it.  The lets say 20 or 30 of us that are not bothered by it say nothing, but the one that is bothered makes it a point that we know about it.  So, to be clear, no one cars about what your religious or hypocritical standards and values are sir.  If it bothers you, we don;t care to know about it.  A baby eating is just natural.  That is what they do lol.  As for seeing a breast  :O may I remind you that you can only see it if you look at it and if a baby is feeding you are really not seeing much of a breast.

So, when you say "It's about what people feel is fit and proper" remember you are only talking about yourself.  :old:
