Gv air support
« on: July 25, 2011, 01:35:16 AM »
If you up a GV and don't have close air support its your own fault.

Did the Allies not pound German tank formations in Normandy and beyond in Bombers?

I protected my squad mates GV retreat last week in a LA and recieved a moody PM.

I tossed and turned all night and awoke feeling terrible :old:

feel terrible for what? Doing your part?

The ones who sent your Pm's can just get over it, they're just mad for not being able to get their easy kills!  :x

Oh yes they did.
"Then out spake brave Horatius, the Captain of the gate:
To every man upon this earth, death cometh soon or late.
And how can man die better, than facing fearful odds.
For the ashes of his fathers and the temples of his Gods."

Yes. Lancasters were very effective tank busters while Flying in shallow dives on the deck chucking out 1,000 lb bombs like candy. That model was named the "Skankcaster". Even more effective was the three skank technique where'as all three would be controlled, via top secret means, by the lead bomber. B-17s and B-24s were almost as effective. While not having the same bombload their belly gunners were well known to hose ground targets with their .50s.  :lol

I can remember huge and wonderful tank battles being ruined by hordes of skanks in Lancs. I dont get it, with all the Jabos and tank killer aircraft we have in the game why not just play in a historical context ? There are dozens of jabos, IL2s, Hurri-Ds, Yak-Ts, B-25s, B-26s, JU-88s...ect Why the Skankcaster ? To much skill needed in the other planes maybe ? :neener:

zack wears rubber underpants  :old:

Vinkman is right - this is not war, this is a game, and if the game allows people to dive bomb you in Lancs or to do other 'unrealistic' things that make your blood boil, then you have to either counter that (air support?) or suck it up and take your beating like a man

expecting hundreds of random people on the internet to play in 'historical context' is hilariously misguided  :rofl
Did you see my dad on dogfights yet?

Or they could just write the game to not allow big heavy bombers to drop at steep dive angles.. I dont really blame the Skankcaster pilots. They are paying their dime and doing nothing illegal. I blame the cheesy modeling.
