aaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnndddddddd d of course, i get approved for financing, and now the dealer that my dealer was getting the car from isn't responding to them. the salesman called me this morning, letting me know.

who'd a thunk that it could be so hard to get a new mustang, considering that the rumor somewhere on this bbs was that the alliance plant(where mustangs are built) was possible closing?  :devil

the sales guy may have a kona blue one for me, but it sounds like he's working his bellybutton off trying to get one for me. i'd like the blue one. that shade of blue looks like you can dive in and go swimming in it.

btw.....does anyone know what "kona" is? or means?

Would look good on you, CAP.  They'll be bringing back Sterling Gray in September and Sonic Blue later in the year (December ish) when Kona runs out.  Those are the two colors I'd go with.  One I really did like in person was the Lava Red which is a black paint with red metal flake.  It looked fantastic in the sunlight!  Or the Performance White with black accents. Or the Grabber Blue CS edition with a black stripe.

Aw hell I'm amazed I decided on anything.

to be honest.....and you guys are gonna try to come lynch me for this......i REALLY wanted lime green. but ford discontinued that color. coincindentally, my first car was a lime green 67 coupe with a black vinyl roof, and....get this......a friggin BENCH seat. it's the only mustang i'd ever seen with a bench seat.

that picture makes me want the blue more than the black now......and has anyone noticed the weight transfer going on there?

It's a V6 ;)

Mustang Club of America edition with the black hockey stripe and the Argent wheels (my favorite) which come with the Performance Package which I do very much like.  From the factory that car pictured has 3.31 rear gears, a GT suspension and a strut tower brace (standard on Convertibles and GTs) Not bad for $28,000.

That's THE other car I almost ordered but I stayed true to the convertible I really wanted.  :)

I can put a C5 Z06 in the garage for the low low 20's.  Doesn't mean it's what I want  :neener:

My coworker races his 2004 (manual transmission) runs 10s and uses it for a daily driver.  With the clutch and suspension changes it's hardly fun to drive in Philadelphia traffic but he does it.

I think I mentioned it earlier on but what's killing me is the 2008 Shelby GT500 that's just sitting about a mile and a half away.  In all seriousness had it not been for the new engines and the value for money with what you get today I wouldn't be buying a new car.  I can actually justify on paper the difference between a used 2008 GT with it's lower purchase price with its higher interest rate and higher fuel consumption versus a new sixer with it's bargain basement financing all the way out to 5 years and great fuel economy.  I make up the difference and start making money on the deal in 33,000 miles.  Or for how much I'll be driving it, less than 3 years.  For the modest premium I'm also not buying a used sports car, it comes with a full warranty and best of all it's mine because I specified what I wanted out of it.  I also keep my monthly payments low enough where I can still afford to fund my retirement, other toys and house down payment fund.  I do well at keeping my hind end out of debt which is one thing my credit rating hasn't agreed with so the fact I'm buying something I can afford and pay it off will pay dividends at house buying time in about 3 years which is when this car may well end up on the selling block.

That said, if you would have asked me in February if I would be buying a new car within the next 5 years (or ever, really) I probably would have said no.  My preowned cars have treated me well from my little 94 Grand Am I had at 16, the cheapie Taurus fleet vehicle I replaced it with (steal of the century $4000, 50,000 miles, 2002 Taurus in 2004 thanks to a fleet sale) and the 2000 Silverado I bought from my father when we struck a deal when my brother needed a new car.  The 2005 Silverado I have now which replaced the 2000 I crashed this past Christmas.  After boring preowned cars and trucks to my name for the last 12 years I'm ready for something just a little more fun.  Just a little... ;)

As I order gears, tuner, intake, exhaust...

Oh boy.

p.s.

Nice car  :aok
