i forgot about the extra coolers, and thought the crown vic suspension(except the tires) was the same, as all of my cop friends used to complain of their vics "floating" around 100 or so.

IIRC it was mostly upgraded bushings and struts. No major components were changed.

you'd be shocked at the difference that just upgrading bushings can make.

Speakin o' cop cars:

One of my regrets is I rarely ever got pix of cars I helped setup or put together ..
Late '70's I worked part time in a SoCal speed shop in Victorvile, CA .. Performance Associates.
Owner had a friend in the CHP who worked out of Barstow ..
..they had an idea that we could setup an 'interceptor' for them and they brought us a bran-new 454 '79 Monte Carlo to see what we could do.

Well.

We dual-turbo'd it. Big port heads, Engle provided the roller turbo spec cam, and two Holly 850's fed it.. along with forged internals and 9:1 pistons from TRW.. etc.
Beefed the tranny, suspension, rear went to a 2.56 ratio, tires were Pirelli's rated for 200mph.
Even put a small air dam front spoiler lookin thingy across the front under the bumper to prevent the front from gettin too light at speed.
It had a sweet low rumbly exhaust, sat a couple inches lower, looked mean as hell in black and white :)
Test drives were pretty amazin ..it wasn't 'quick' like my Duster but it felt like ridin a cannonball down a well .. it just kept accelerating with no fall off in sight.
It would fry the tires fairly easily when it hit second at 100mph or so. No one had wound it out in 3rd.

They brought it in for it's first oily change and checkup and couldn't stop talkin about it .. they *loved* it ..
.. one guy had run down a Ferrari with it, pulled up next to the guy and told him to pull over, at 175mph .. ROFL.

no...he made 1 or 2 real passes. i saw one of the stangs being thrown like the guy thought he was on fast n furious. the 65 shelby doesn't count.

and rewatch that consumer review video. apparently, the driver doesn't make the difference.  :devil

oh yea....it was the other way 'round. chevy cranked up the camaro to compete with the mustang....and ford did just as they always do in these situations, and topped em.  :aok now go watch the vid of the camaro losing both laps, even after switching drivers.  :bolt:

If you are at a meet at Sebring you will not just pass. The driver in front of you has to motion you to pass and on which side. These are not proffessional racers. They are street cars.

lol your referring to the ford site vid posting. Watch it and you'll also see that both drivers sandbagged the camaro. lol
Both drivers being ford enthusiast. The vid I posted was ford folks driving their cars and chevy folks driving theirs.

My cousin's Stang.  1000 miles on a new motor, supercharged, fresh paint, etc.  Wish I could afford it right now.

that's pretty sweet looking. very nice actually.

he may have trouble selling it. my customer that had the 87 ragtop with the paxton had to drop his price from 13.5 down to a little over 7k to sell it. that car was nearly perfect.

in other news......got the call today i was approved for the loan, for the 012. the interest isn't as low as i'd like it, but then like i said, my credit's not what it should be either. payments should be affordable. i'm just waiting now, to hear if the dealer they were getting me the car from still has it. if they do, i'll be drivin something nice for the first time in many many moons.

Those cars in the videos above would benefit from someone who can make more use out of what they have to offer.

He's asking 8k for it.  I imagine it'll sell at that price.  My cousin is a freak when it comes to his vehicles.  It has to be spotless.  You should see his stretched nitrous Hayabusa...  That thing is INSANE!
