CPU Heatsink/Fan

I have an AMD Phenom II X6 1055t AM3 socket. looking to get a heat sink/fan combo for better cooling. Idle im looking between 27 and 30 C for my CPU. it isnt that hot im aware, but the cooler the better. Size wouldnt be much an issue (Getting an NZXT Phantom this week), and i think i found something i could use but i was looking for thoughts on it. The reviews look good for the most part. Silent, does its job, isnt too expensive, big (not that it should be an issue with a Phantom i hope). it wouldnt be purchased today or tomorrow, but when i get tthings figured out ill be interested. if anyone has some better ideas for a heatsink/fan combo feel free to post!

I went with a very similar product based on the Newegg video. By the time I added case fans and air filters (~$72), I think I could have bought a liquid cooling system and run both cooler and quieter without all that leverage pushing down on the mother board. That's what I wish I'd done instead and I may do that, especially if I start transporting my new rig.

im a little partial to liquids around my computer. i didnt spend all my money back in march and april to risk a liquid frying it if a leak gets sprung. also, how much more would a liquid cooling system be over a heat sink/fan combo?

I'm looking at this one myself, it's a closed system out of the box. er, the packaging lol. I'll be mounting it inside at the top of the case.

Yes, and mount the radiator and fan to the case.

I would go with the Corsair water cooled and also you can get them at Best Buy also so you wont have to wait for it. Just remove the fan on the back of the case and install the radiator then the fan on top of it. Viaola you have a cooler temp on your processor. its all a thought right now, just getting my ideas together for after football and hiockey. im only gonna have Sundays to myself when football starts (practice everyday after school, EMT class saturday and games friday or saturday night). then hockey starts the end of november and goes until mid february. gonna have no time until spring timeish.

BTW you will love the Phantom case...bee advised it is a LARGE case and has LOTS of room in it.

gotta move some things around to fit it where its going haha. already measured out the size of and when i saw the videos on newegg and youtube i damn near shat myself at the size haha.

i dont need it right now other then to say i have it, but im thinkin ahead in the future. rather not be in one of those situations where i buy something and its too large for my case.

I use the Corsair HC50 water cooler on two AMD machines. My AH machine is an AMD Phenom II X6 1090. Works great in my HAF 932 case.

NOTE: Study the instructions carefully for mounting the cooling head to the CPU. Make sure you use the correct parts.

i just may do that then.... if i dont bite onto a Sandy Bridge mobo and i5 2300 CPU my buddy showed me the price on.

Masonz I have mine watercooled and have had no leaks yet and mine runs at 32 degrees Celsius on low end and 43 on high load.

mine runs at low 40's air cooled.  2500k  oc to 4.5.  some coolers are better than others, but some look cooler than others.

i5? Heard the factory heatsinks arent the best on the i5 2500k's.... im doin a lot of thinking recently. gotta save up my money first before i do anything though.
